I was joking the other day, but after looking at a map I think a Dead Boy Detectives-Twilight crossover would be HILARIOUS. The towns are a 2 hour drive from each other. It could happen.

I know I personally tend to write Edwin’s insults as hyper-verbal, witty, and crafted but I do think it’s great tbh that canonically they aren’t, always

He says “it's the Dead Boy Detective Agency. Not the Two Dead Boys and One Sad Psychic Girl Detective Agency. That’s a rubbish name” and then makes a face like he thinks he’s solidly won this battle of wits when in fact this is a case of “you want to insult Crystal so bad it makes you look stupid”

And then there are the ones that are sorta halfway between like “I will jot that down in my journal of opinions I do not give a damn about” which is very funny and well-crafted and a little more wordy than necessary but also ultimately kinda blunt-force, he’s not exactly being subtle here, and “perhaps it’s your outfit” which is absolutely delightful but also very straightforward as an insult, in terms of format

I dunno I just think it’s kind of charming that Edwin is so eager to be ✨ 💅 mean 💅 ✨ that he’ll sometimes just jump right to the point and sometimes even straight-up trip over himself

The dress is inspired by one from a 1916 fashion magazine. The original was to be worn with lighter shoes (being an evening dress), but I wanted to draw footwear more in keeping with Edwin’s regular boots.
