Holding an MFA in poetry from the University of Iowa and an MA in English literature from Boston University, Ruth Tobias has been covering the worlds of food and beverage since 2000. Along the way she has written for a wide range of newspapers, magazines, and websites, from The Boston Globe and The Denver Post to Gastronomica, Condé Nast Traveler, Imbibe, and Thrillist (to name a few), while also serving for many years as an editor for Zagat. Based in Denver, Colorado, she is currently managing editor at The Tasting Panel and The SOMM Journal as well as a longtime Eater contributor.
