I knew folks would want to see a night version of “Reawakening” but I really wanted to add some more light to the scene to illuminate the trees from below (in addition to the moonlight from above). After some experimentation I settled on the same strategy I used for “Sakura (Night)” and added some floating lanterns to the creek.
Thanks for all the wonderful comments on this piece. I’m glad you enjoy it!

Happy Sunday to you all!
It’s been a while since I’ve done a Spring render that was unabashedly blooming and colorful. The goal here was simply to fill every pixel with colorful new life and sunshine. After a long winter I really needed something bright, warm and alive on my desktop. I hope you enjoy it too!

As mentioned yesterday, here’s one last version of “Dreamcatcher”. It’s a “night” version for those of you who prefer dark and glowy desktops.
It’s in the Pickle Jar for now but help me decide which version I should feature in the gallery!

Here’s a version of “Dreamcatcher” that more directly calls back to “Rings” from the ’97 gallery. It’s in the Pickle Jar for now. Which version should I feature in the gallery going forward??
PS: I have one more alternate take rendering and it will be available soon.

“Rings” was one of the original images in my gallery and I created sometime around 1995 using 2D tools. Folks have often asked me to update it over the years. Recently I saw a design (on a shampoo bottle of all places) that inspired me to go back to the concept. I used Cinema4D here and the entire scene is comprised thousands of ellipses and spheres repeated symmetrically. Jessie thought it looked like a spirograph design and it sort of does, but where that method using continuous lines here I am simply using cloned loops.
Anyway, it’s been something I’ve wanted to try for a while and I hope you enjoy it!
