Things You Can't Say
There are many things you can say to someone. You can tell them something when they're upset, when they're angry, and when something good happens to them. You cannot say something when they have lost someone.
And you especially can't say something when that person lost their twin, at least that's what Stanford thinks.
For you to share a birthday with this person, you've had your whole part of your life with this person. Defined by this person. There are no words to quell the feeling of loss when the other half of you is gone. You no longer are tethered to a pair because there is no longer a pair. You spend so long being mad at this person, so many years, just for them to be gone now. You have to realize that there was less time than you thought there was. You thought you had forever to be mad, to hate each other, because it always was just you two. Then they're gone and now you rather take back whatever moments of anger with them just so you get the chance to hold them one more time. Hear their laugh one more time.
And it is somehow worse when that person's body is alive but their memory of your lives together isn't. They don't remember the gifts you secretly swapped because they got the wrong name, the annoyance of being mistaken for the other, the whole knowledge of your childhood. And they don't even remember you to miss you, you look into their eyes and they no longer recognize you.
You're just a jagged mirror with their face on it. You're nothing to them.
And suddenly, that anger isn't so important anyway.

Okay, so uh, I made a playlist! I’m not expecting anyone to listen to it, really, just wanted to share. It’s songs that make me think of Gravity Falls characters, mainly Stan, Ford, or both (let’s face it, it’s mostly Stan). Some make me think of au’s. Some are a stretch because why I added it may be because of a small block of lyrics or even just a vibe.
Just as a reminder, I DO NOT ship incest, so if a song mentions love, I either think about as platonic love, a (non incest) ship, or I ignore that part of the song because other parts work.
I’m happy to talk about my thoughts on a song if prompted, but I won’t add any requests. As of posting this, it is alphabetized, contains 109 songs and is 7 hours long. I may add more songs whenever.
Got a couple of 17 Again AU doodles! Including Dipper in Ford's old jacket. Finished that one with a panicked 3 year old asking me to turn the thunder off. Distracted him with Bluey before getting back to it.
