Quilt top that I made at a Ricky Tims' convergence quilt workshop. The top went together in a few hours. Then I started quilting it from the back with a leaf pattern. I hated that quilting and it has taken me many months to remove it. I just finished that today and will attempt to re-quilt it in a simpler, less obvious style. Pictured with quilting here. Another WIP

Ricky Timms Convergence Quilt Workshop

Totally encouraged by the kind comments from Jo and Lizzie, I have fixed the bit that was wrong (inbetween other things...) and taken a photo of the square as should be! I even found time to blog about it now, rather than monday.. How is that for good intentions!! (Being up since 5.30am did help a little there too! It's amazing what you can get done with a little extra time!!) Ok... the workshop. We were making the basis for a convergence quilt, led by a lady who had the book by Ricky Timms…

"This quilt was made for a challenge at my local guild this October 2007. We were given a fat quarter of the grape-green fabric and told to come up with a quilt no larger than 50" square. I chose to elaborate on a Ricky Timms design - to create this quilt. My fellow guild members voted it to be first place, which was quite an honor for me." This year in the Fast Friday Fabric Challenge group, we were encouraged to work in a series for our challenges. I thought I would try to express abstract concepts in a "Spirit" series.
