Idlewild Blooms | Dahlia Farm on Instagram: "My best tips for newbies… 💗 Buy dahlia varieties that make you happy even if they aren’t popular. Some of my favorites are inexpensive. 💗 Get a variety of sizes and forms. This gives you good texture in bouquets. 💗 It’s okay to plant them close (12 inches is what I do) as long as you cut them a lot! 💗 Fertilize them regularly with nitrogen balanced fertilizer when they are young. This makes for big happy plants. You can lay off the fertilizer once they are blooming. 💗 Give them lots of support so they don’t fall over. I use the corral method because it works well for long rows with lots of plants. 💗 Attend your local dahlia society meetings and make some friends with people who have grown them for years. You’ll learn lots! 💗 Don’t take it Wildflowers In Yard, Dahlia Trellis, Dahlia Flower Garden Landscapes, Dahlia In Garden, Dahlia Flower Bed, Dahlia Staking Ideas, Dahlia Garden Landscaping, Dahlia Support Ideas, Dahlia Support

Kim | Busy Bee Farm & Florals on Instagram: "Here is part 1 of a real-time dahlia tuber divide. I will try to post some more videos in real-time as this is a request I get often and it seems there is a lot of interest. I know watching videos of others dividing their dahlias is what gave me the confidence to try it myself. I hope this is helpful to even one person! If you’re curious why I snip the root end off of our tubers, the dahlias don’t need this to grow the following season and it is an opportunity for me to check for rot. Also, I have thousands of tubers to store, so anything I can do to save space really helps 💞 #dahlia #dahliagrower #dahliatips #dahliastorage #dahliatubers #dahliagarden #beginnergardener" Dahlia Landscaping Ideas, How To Divide Dahlia Tubers, Dahlia Storage, Dahlia Planting, Hawaii Garden, Dalia Flower, Dahlia Flower Garden, Dahlia Care, Dahlia Garden
