Juliette’s Wheelhouse on Instagram: "Carving an intricate pattern on a big bowl can be difficult because I can’t hold it in my lap and maneuver it around to fit my hand position just right without warping it. So I keep it on a banding wheel and maneuver my position to fit the bowl, which can look a little silly at times, but that’s ok 😂 This shallow bowl is one of the 3 large bowls I threw recently (14” across). I love the shape of the bowl, but carvings don’t stand out as well on lower, shallow sides, so I had to come up with a design that is bold and deep enough to catch the light and also catch your eye. Hopefully I accomplished that. Check my stories for the finished pieces 👀 I’m finally cranking in the studio after I did a calendar check and realized we’re almost in December.
