Lily Munster costume is a diaphanous white dress with the bat necklace she calls a bad luck charm. For her style, long hair is as iconic as Cruella De Vil's for its black and white colors.

THE MUNSTERS premiered (in black and white) exactly 48 years ago today. There have been several attempts at revivals, all of which miss the point that the monster backdrop is NOT the reason the show worked. Rather, the show's success was due to the wonderful comic teaming of Fred Gwynne and Al Lewis. This year in 2012 they're trying it again in a darker version.
