I used the same the rift cut oak veneer as we have in the kitchen for continuity, as the door into the space will remain open a lot of the time and it makes it feel like an extension of the kitchen. This also made me decide to have doors on the food cupboard, rather than open shelves (I’m also unlikely to keep it super neat & tidy, so best to be able to shut everything away) This is quite a tight space, but it holds a lot.
