So even though the finished print may never make it into one of my exhibitions, it gave me some exciting ideas of how to push future prints forward. "\"Anything for art!\" the model said... This original image, The Respite, was etched and handprinted as a linocut series in 2021. In this rendition as a signed fine art print, a high-quality scan of a hand-printed original is printed locally. The printshop, Fotorama, specializes in scanning and printing artwork, and prides itself on delivering the highest quality of colour and representation. Why a fine art print? This form of printing is of fantastic quality, far superior to posters printed on card stock. The image now appears on giclée Hahnemühle Photorag paper, a matte paper made of 100% cotton rag with a natural white tone (no chemical bleaching!). Great care is taken to deliver a print that is as close as possible to the original lino print in colour, depth and feel.
