I finally gave in and purchased grommet top curtains for my living room a while back but was constantly adjusting them as they ended up squished or unevenly spaced on the rod. I am not a perfectionist but when I spend money on something I want it to look nice and curtains that wouldn't stay put drove me nuts! How can I keep them evenly spaced; from being pushed flat? My solution was to purchase a pool noodle for $1 at the Dollar Store! I finally gave in and purchased grommet top curtains for my living room a while back but was constantly adjusting them as they ended up squished or unevenly spaced on the rod.

*IKEA curtain hack*

I love a fully dressed window but I don’t love how much custom window treatments can cost! I recently hung my favourite Ikea curtains in my breakfast nook and did all the things to make them look fancy.

This is what I did:

1) Hang high and wide! I like to go a few inches below the ceiling and far enough to the side of the window so that the window is not covered by the curtain when the curtain is open.

2) Double them up! The fuller the curtains the more luxe they look! I have even used three panels together. I sew them together but even just hanging them next to each other works!

3) Use pleating hooks! A lot of off the shelf curtains have pleating tape already sewn on (all of IKEA curtains do!) so all you have to do is get some pleating hooks and put them on.
