Every musician who lived and died for their craft runs the risk of returning as a fiddling bones, as do musicians who died before completing their magnum opus or receiving the accolades they believe they deserved. Driven to prove themselves even in undeath, fiddling bones often challenge famous performers to music duels.

Last week to support Soundfall on fig! https://www.fig.co/campaigns/soundfall When trying to get my head around designing these abstract baddies, I asked my AD which would be what sort of roomate in a 90s sitcom. The resultant chat gave me juuust enough info to design on!

Baddies! Some of the most fun on any project is to be had designing monsters imho. For Soundfall we needed a species of baddies composed of twisted, corrupted music- the Discordians- and the first one up was the common Grunt unit. He had to be vaguely threatening- appealing in a “I can’t wait to pop that like a piñata full of exp” kinda way. I started by using the musical energy motif from Melody’s armor and weapon- wrapping pure music (luminous bars and notes) in jagged, crusty black armor…
