Happy 150 years Canada! I put the last stitches in yesterday with just a few hours to spare! Each white leaf is labelled with a province or territory. I had planned to include the date each joined Confederation, but they would have been too small to be legible. Thank you to all who commented on my last post and talked me off the ledge, so to speak. I put down the seam ripper and left the 150 and dates the way they were, and that was the right thing to do! Rosie approves! Now, please link up…

Happy Canada Day everyone. By the time we went to the cottage on Saturday, I had 60% of this sweet quilt machine quilted. It's called Oh, Canada. Today I spent a bit of time to finish up the quilting and the binding. The quilting is really wonky but I like it. Swirls in the white background and geometric straight line shapes in the sides of the flags. And each of the 10 maple leaves is quilted uniquely. It was a fun quilt to do. I pieced this quilt top a few years ago, it has been in the closet for so long waiting to be quilted. I finally got it out and did the quilting to have it ready for Canada Day. It sure feels good to have this quilt completed. The Canadian flag has the maple leaf and red and white. The pattern is designed by a local quilter. I love the nine patches in the sashing. Boo just wanted to say "Hi". Happy Canada Day!
