1. Preheat your pot, then add about four tablespoons of ghee or butter and a drizzle of olive oil.
2. Add in three nests of vermicelli egg noodle. Toast until nice and golden.
3. Add about two and a half to three cups of washed basmati rice. Stir until the rice is lightly toasted.
4. Add one tablespoon of salt and approximately one liter of hot water. Make sure the water level is roughly 1-2 cm above the rice.
5. Bring to a boil. Once it starts bubbling, reduce the heat to the lowest setting and cover the pot with the lid.
6. Cook for about ten minutes on the lowest setting.
7. Remove from heat and let it sit for a few minutes with the lid off the pot.
8. Fluff the rice and it’s ready to serve.
