There’s been an increased demand for products sourced from Tasmanian-managed forests both through and post the pandemic, says Britton Timber’s Shawn Britton.

A warm, natural red,yellow and brown based, realistic tasmanian oak colour and timber structure, with subtle straight planking and half crown cuts throughout.

Our Collingwood renovation was inspired by the client's love of mid-century modern design. The Kitchen features Polytec Tasmanian Oak Woodmatt to all cabinetry which adds warmth and texture while perfectly complimenting the new engineered floorboards throughout. The feature shelves in Polytec's Botanic Smooth were then selected as a nod to the client's dining furniture which includes gorgeous green velvet chairs. Photography by Elise Scott

Building in a BAL40 bushfire zone, the exterior of the Y House was clad in steel but to bring warmth into the home and play up the coastal feeling of the surrounding environment, Tasmanian Oak was selected for the home’s tongue and groove flooring. Carefully laid in a herringbone pattern where the three wings intersect, the floor is a feature of the home but also highly functional under the busy feet of three generations of one family.
