Growing over the metal railings of a garden in Inverness, Scotland, was Rosa × odorata ‘Mutabilis’ (tea rose). This bushy shrub rose flowers almost continuously from early summer to autumn with blooms of buff-yellow, ageing to pink and crimson. The lax growth can offer little display value for the bottom two thirds so this cultivar integrates well into a mixed border and with ornamental grasses.
