What does your heart look like?

Your heart burned so fiercely that it burnt itself out, leaving horrible scars in its wake; scars inside your chest and on the hands of those who touched you, the hearts of anyone who got close enough to connect to yours. The person you are now is no longer recognizable, burnt up by your own anger and passion and love. The injuries can never be fully erased, but they can be soothed with time and trust and forgiveness.

that’s a fitting result for her. she’s not the person she was before, though she still carries the scars. now there’s nothing left but learning to live and love in a way that doesn’t hurt.

Apparently today is the one-year anniversary of starting this blog for Ravnur and his friends!

When I started last year, I was a few months into a grueling graduate program and looking to connect more with my love of creative writing and XIV. I'd been playing the game with a core group of friends for a few years by then, and had all these lil guys with extremely detailed backstories that live in my head.

I'm not a huge blog / social media person and I'm still fairly shy, so I tempered my expectations. But it's been so welcoming here! I'm grateful for the experiences I've had so far because I've gotten closer to that group of friends and met so many new ones.

[[Day 2 – Tree / Perception]]

[[Ravnur – he / him]]

Ravnur is most comforted by the presence of large trees. When he has time to rest, he usually climbs one and sits in its lower boughs. Perceiving his earth tones amidst the dappling of leaves and branches is almost impossible, and he can comfortably vanish from sight once he sits still. On the other hand, the height allows him to see without being seen, much to the frustration of friends who might be trying to find him. Some habits are hard to break for an old ex-Wood-Warder.

To most people, Ravnur is a pillar of calm. His surprisingly deep baritone voice comes across as gentle but self-assured. Much older than he looks, he tires of social mores easily— he knows what he wants and how he wants it, and can be brutally honest at times. He takes his oath to protect seriously, whether he's wielding a guillotine or nouliths, and will help where he can. Only those closest to him will ever see a carefree smile— behind the night-toned eyes and stoic face, there is an ever-present melancholia and a violent past that he will not broach.
