Welcome2
Hi! I'm on the welcoming committee too, and saw your question on Vanport, Oregon. I refered the matter to the talk page for Wikiproject Oregon, where it will get seen by the most people. You might want to enable your email in contributions. It's a two step process. First you have to set it up... the BOT will send you a coded secure verification message. Then you click or paste the link it sends you into your browser. That enables wiki-email for you. It needs one more step. Back in preferences, now click the box in front of Enable e-mail from other users. Then someone can get to you with a question.

If on the other hand, you're going to be editing herein, when you enter a preview page, the system will detect you and flash a banner message with a link notifying you that there is a new message. If you have questions or need help, feel free to ask me at Fabartus or click the green part of my sig. Same thing. Hope you get your answer. Happy holidays, // FrankB 07:40, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
Vanport location
Hello Sylviaa, This article shows that you are correct. It was indeed on Delta Park's location. I remember seeing old photos of Vanport somewhere decades ago, and believed it to be a little south of that, nearer the Columbia Slough. I vaguely remember seeing Jantzen Beach—or where it should have been—way in the background. I'll update the article, unless someone beats me to it. Thanks for the question. — EncMstr 08:14, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
- Well, one of my better ideas I guess! That was Quick!Nice to see a happy customer! <g>
Got your message, had to check what I'd written. Invitation
You are invited to join WikiProject Oregon, a WikiProject dedicated to improving articles related to the U.S. state of Oregon . You received this invitation because of your history editing Oregon articles or discussion of Oregon topics. The Oregon WikiProject group discussion is here.
If you are interested in joining, please visit the project page, and add your name to the list of participants. New members may read about existing members and introduce themselves here. There's nothing wrong. WikiProjects are merely groups of editors who work together to improve articles (they tag articles so articles in their field of interested can easily be found again later). It's not a statement of ownership. If you want to learn about referencing, you can read WP:REF, pick an article to fix and go. I'd be happy to check your work. The best way to learn is try. - Mgm|(talk) 11:06, 9 December 2008 (UTC)
I agree with Mgm. The edit you did was a good one. If, however, in the future you do make a mistake when you do edit something, you can revert the changes. The edit you made should definitely NOT be reverted. - Akamad (talk) 02:15, 10 December 2008 (UTC)
- Thank you, Akamad, I really appreciate the help. Sylvia A (talk) 02:02, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
- People have different opinions on where best to answer. I prefer being informed on my talk page, but others like to keep the discussion in one place and prefer using the template {{talkback}} to inform someone of new responses. The key is to make sure you edit the other person's talk page so they get the orange "new messages" banner at the top of the page and know you have responded. You have to decide for yourself what you feel works best (but make sure you follow someone's wishes if the top of their talk page says they want to see a talk back template (and the rest of the discussion appended on the original page). -Mgm|(talk) 01:09, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
