History

edit

The first settlement at Benjamin was made circa 1860.[4] A post office called Benjamin was established in 1892, and remained in operation until 1902.[5] The community has the name of Benjamin F. Stewart, a first settler.[4]

Some residents made a request in February 2009 to make Benjamin an incorporated town, in an effort to prevent annexation by the neighboring cities of Salem, Spanish Fork, and Payson.[6]
