With the draw between India and Afghanistan, the Bangladesh team will definitely be fifth in its group, and as a result, with any result in other groups, Oman will remain among the top 5 second team. to qualify thierd rouand

Draw date & rankings used
edit@JalenFolf, Fauzannaufan, Nehme1499, Qby, and Sakiv: Do we have any official sources about those information? Previously we used some Arabic site that said 24 June and May rankings. Now we have a Lebanese one that says 1 July and possibly June rankings? If no official sources can be found, I suggest hiding our current pot table. Centaur271188 (talk) 22:11, 15 June 2021 (UTC)
- @JalenFolf, Centaur271188, Nehme1499, Qby, and Sakiv: I agree that the pot table should be hidden if there are no sources. This also apply for ACQ Third Round and ACQ Play-off article, since AFC haven't announced anything about the pots Fauzannaufan (talk) 22:28, 15 June 2021 (UTC)
- If there isn't any official FIFA/AFC source saying anything about which FIFA ranking will be used, I would also hide them. Nehme1499 22:43, 15 June 2021 (UTC)
- @JalenFolf, Centaur271188, Nehme1499, Fauzannaufan, and Sakiv: The next FIFA/Coca-Cola Men's World Ranking will be published on 12 August 2021. [1] Podium unchanged ahead of busy schedule Qby (talk) 03:48, 16 June 2021 (UTC)
- I love it - "We've included the rankings - although they could be wrong - but if people point out they're wrong will just ban them for a few days. Better to have a table full of incorrect information than listen to garbage about 'facts'" 110.33.28.251 (talk) 12:39, 16 June 2021 (UTC)
- There is now clarity from the AFC. The draw for the third round will be held on 1 July 2021, and the seeding for the draw will be based on a special release of the FIFA World Rankings for Asian teams on 18 June 2021.[1]

Stats AFC link
edit@Centaur271188 and Snowflake91: The old AFC links didn't work on your devices? I am asking this, because those links were working perfectly fine on my device. The reason why I was thinking of keeping the old links was because those links are more well preserved then the live links. As you may know, even during this world cup qualification cycle AFC and FIFA have changed their links at least once or twice due to their website restructures. Changing the links every time the website goes through a restructure (which is a common thing to happen) is very problematic. Also, just so that you know, the https links are not working, but the HTTP links are, maybe you would specifically want to open the HTTP page without any redirects to open those reports.--Anbans 585 (talk) 19:24, 12 October 2021 (UTC)
- @Anbans 585: The old links work properly to me. I found and cited the new ones because Snowflake91 said they did not work - maybe to him only, but they indeed are not very useful. They only start showing information a few hours after match end, their goal data is not complete (we know who scored but not when). That being said, I have no problem if you want to reinstate them :) Centaur271188 (talk) 19:40, 12 October 2021 (UTC)
- You are right, its probably the problem with HTTPS-only mode on Firefox which I use - tried it on Chrome and the links works fine, I thought that the links were simply dead. I got a message like this. Snowflake91 (talk) 20:11, 12 October 2021 (UTC)
- @Anbans 585 and Snowflake91: So will we keep the new links or revert to the old ones? Centaur271188 (talk) 20:24, 12 October 2021 (UTC)
- @Snowflake91 and Centaur271188: I would love the old ones, but the current ones are also okay to use. Also, on a side note if we do plan on to use the current version of links, then should the links on the second round and first round pages be changed as well?--Anbans 585 (talk) 20:44, 12 October 2021 (UTC)
- @Anbans 585: I think we should not. This dedicated site has a page for 1st and 2nd round results, [2] but it combines all matches and groups in that single page - not very desirable. About the current round, we can enjoy it for now, but I think it would be inaccessible after June (when qualification ends) or December 2022 (when the final tournament ends). By then the new links might die unless being archived. Centaur271188 (talk) 22:52, 12 October 2021 (UTC)
- @Centaur271188: Right, we can change it later, this round has less fixtures so probably less effort would be required later as well. The best way here would be to make a script or something which replaces these patterns with less effort. I don't know how you guys do it, but I usually do the link addition, removal and updating very manually.
