Tides
editThe claim in this article that Bristol Channel has second highest tides in the world is incorrect. Ungava Bay in Canada and the Bay of Fundy in Canada both have higher tides. Tiddy (talk) 02:08, 12 May 2010 (UTC)
- That is not what the references state. --Simple Bob (talk) 02:13, 12 May 2010 (UTC)
From Ungava Bay article: "The southwestern corner of Ungava Bay, along with Bay of Fundy, has either the highest or second-highest tidal ranges in the world. Some sources estimate the spring tide range at the mouth of the Leaf River as being as high as 17 m (56 ft)."
From Bay of Fundy article: "The Canadian Hydrographic Service finally declared it a statistical tie, with measurements of a 16.8 metre (55.1 feet) tidal range in Leaf Basin for Ungava Bay and 17 meters (55.8 feet) at Burntcoat Head for the Bay of Fundy." Tiddy (talk) 02:23, 12 May 2010 (UTC)
