"Stay Here Forever"

edit

Are we sure "Stay Here Forever" is by the subject? ---Another Believer (Talk) 14:01, 25 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

I see lots of reason to doubt it. Just because it's the same name doesn't mean it's the same person. Why isn't it available on Cherry Valentine's official YouTube channel? Why was it never advertised on any of her social media channels? And why does it sound completely different from her previous two singles? Richard3120 (talk) 14:43, 25 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Richard3120 I think I had assumed the song was by the subject because of this link, which refers to other songs confirmed by the subject. However, there's a chance Amazon is wrong here, so I remain skeptical and hopeful editors can help solve this riddle somehow. ---Another Believer (Talk) 14:54, 25 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Another Believer: I'm sceptical as well, because Apple Music doesn't make the same connection as Amazon between this song and the others by Cherry Valentine. Richard3120 (talk) 16:42, 25 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Richard3120 Thanks for looking. @JuanGLP, Sammi Brie, Aoba47, Jo-Jo Eumerus, Gog the Mild, Nikkimaria, Ian Rose, Hog Farm, SchroCat, Spinixster, Pseud 14, and ChrisTheDude: Pinging editors who have worked on this article or commented in reviews to date. Unless any of you object, I am comfortable removing mention of "Stay Here Forever" per this discussion. Perhaps being a bit overly cautious here, but wanting to make sure there's consensus to update a Featured article. Thanks! ---Another Believer (Talk) 16:49, 25 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Sounds reasonable to me. And thanks for the notification. IMO you can't be too cautious when messing around with a consensus formed at FAC. Gog the Mild (talk) 16:59, 25 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
I share the concerns with this. The song sounds very different with Valentine's other work. On Apple Music, it is listed under a separate profile (here) than the one for Valentine's singles (here). Spotify lists them all in the same profile (here), but I have seen instances on Spotify where names are attached to songs that are clearly not theirs. I would remove it from the article if another source cannot be found to verify that it is really a song by Valentine. I could not find anything in my search. I think it is always good to be cautious and have an open discussion on things like this. Aoba47 (talk) 17:20, 25 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Aoba47: yes, Spotify has never made any distinction between artists with the same name, so it means nothing that they are lumped together on that platform. All of Valentine's social media platforms (YouTube, Instagram, etc.) are still active, so you would think that if it really had been released as a "final work" it would have been mentioned and promoted on one of them... but nothing. Thank you for the ping and the clarification. It is something that I always meant to look into in the past. Aoba47 (talk) 17:27, 25 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Removed I have removed mention of "Stay Here Forever" from the prose and the Discography table. Thank you, all! ---Another Believer (Talk) 17:56, 25 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
