List of clients removed

edit

I've now twice removed the list of "Known 5250 Clients", as this falls under what Wikipedia is not -- none of them have an article of their own, such a list is unencyclopedic, and it appears to be productspam. //Blaxthos ( t / c ) 12:27, 16 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

That's funny I was thinking of adding just such a list. If an entry were made for each item to be added it would then be encyclopedic? Software is pretty abstract, we could make specifications for anything... it isn't like the laws of physics without a mention of implementation something like 5250 isn't very useful to the general public. Further there are widely implemented specifications such as FTP, and Telnet. FTP links to "Comparison of FTP client software" and Telnet does have a list of clients internal to the document. While these protocols are well known and easy to find implementations for (particularly free ones), this is not so obvious for 5250 and so is of increased value to this topic and I feel the next time someone submits a list it be kept. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.18.239.235 (talk) 18:05, 19 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

How does the "5555" fit? Was this only an emulated device? I can't seem to find a description. Peter Flass (talk) 12:59, 3 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
