Boobarella, a nod to Barbarella or Vampirella?

edit

It seems more likely the latter. 68.107.83.19 (talk) 20:04, 25 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Media in the Simpsons

edit

Most everyone on this page is on a TV show, is a movie star, etc, so they are just media characters. So, they should be in the media page, so this page is really not needed. Just saying what I think. Rhino131 18:14, 19 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

The Media page is about the theme of media in the series, this is a list of celebrities. There is a difference. -- Scorpion0422 18:17, 19 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Celebrities?

edit

I expected to see a list of Celebrities, but this is a list of ficticious(sp?) celebrities... maybe if the title changed? Vicco Lizcano 21:08, 19 June 2007 (UTC) (Hey! Listen!)Reply

It says in The Simpsons. Do you have a suggestion for a new title? -- Scorpion0422 21:23, 19 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
Fictional Celebrities? because they are... well, fictional? I'm not trying to be an ass, don't take it personal, it's just that the title gave me the wrong idea when I first read it. Maybe because English ain't my main language. Vicco Lizcano 17:25, 21 June 2007 (UTC) (Hey! Listen!)Reply
First line in the article:
This is a List of celebrities in the fictional television show The Simpsons.
I tought the celebrities were fictional and that the television show was real.Vicco Lizcano 17:36, 21 June 2007 (UTC) (Hey! Listen!)Reply

Why did user [1] deleted this wholse section without giving any explanation as to why? Vicco Lizcano 14:07, 30 July 2007 (UTC) (Hey! Listen!)Reply

Not much of a celebrity. A famous character maybye but definetly not a celebrity. Even tough she has appeared on Springfield Squares a lot she may just be on there because she is just a famous person.Simpsonguy (talk) 21:24, 15 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

One Time Characters

edit

Should one time characters be on the celebrity list? Rhino131 17:56, 2 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

It really depends. If they are a major celebrity one-time character like Birch Barlow, Buck McCoy, Tabitha Vixx, Lurleen Lumpkin, or Sara Solane yes but if it is a minor one like Jimmy, or June Bellamy no.Simpsonguy (talk) 21:24, 15 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Sideshow Mel.jpg

edit

Image:Sideshow Mel.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Gabbo and Arthur

edit

I have been seeing many requests for Gabbo and Arthur Crandall on the recurring character list but they would rather fit on the celebrity list anyway they aren't really that recurring as their other two appearances are simply just minor ones. Anyway there is a mini section for them on the list of one-time characters but I have to say they should have a bigger section here.Simpsonguy (talk) 21:24, 15 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

edit

The image Image:Colonel Homer.JPG is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --02:08, 20 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Proposed merge

edit

I propose merging this page with List of recurring characters in The Simpsons because they cover similar topics. The celebrities are recurring characters, so the entries on this page should be placed inside the aforementioned list. Oscarchad 001 (talk) 01:59, 5 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

It's a length issue. The recurring character list is already quite long, and WP:DOH felt that there were enough media personalities in the show to justify a page. -- Scorpion0422 01:48, 6 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
