Player Flags
editI am sure this comes up all the time for players who have represented more than one country, but I think Craig Gower should not have an Italian flag next to his name. To support this: He was born and raised in Australia. His eligibility for Italy relies on a single grandparent. He has yet to represent Italy in rugby league. 119.149.15.21 (talk) 03:20, 1 February 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks, I'll go have a look and fix it. [[Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Rugby_league#Flags_in_Club_Squad_boxes|There is a discussion here] on the matter. Mattlore (talk) 04:23, 1 February 2012 (UTC)

Proposed merge with List of London Broncos home grounds
edit- The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section. A summary of the conclusions reached follows.
- The result of this discussion was no consensus. Jellyman (talk) 07:50, 17 August 2017 (UTC)
I propose that List of London Broncos home grounds be merged into London Broncos. The list is unsourced and doesn't really give much information beyond listing the dates they were at each ground. I think this information can be easily summarised in the main article on the team. Jellyman (talk) 06:50, 10 April 2017 (UTC)
- I would say that their nomadic past gives the stadia that the London team under their various guises has played in, could well be made up to a good level. I would if I were you offer to improve the article, rather than looking to merge it as the sources available to you are both many and numerous.Fleets (talk) 11:07, 10 April 2017 (UTC)
- Or, if it's that easy, maybe you should do it??? You're the one wanting it kept separate. I'll contribute to whichever articles I want, in the way I want, as time allows me, thank you very much. Jellyman (talk) 11:17, 10 April 2017 (UTC)
- No worries, I wasn't being nasty and wasn't looking to make you look silly by shining a light on the readily available material out there. Obviously feel free to do as you wish, but by looking to merge an article it would be yourself who would have to justify the merge, not anyone who would look to retain it. It can be marked for improvement, but as you say I hall edit the way I want (within existing guidelines), as time allows meFleets (talk) 12:33, 10 April 2017 (UTC)
- Fair enough. I see dozens of articles that look they would be interesting to add to, but finding the time and resources is another matter! And I wasn't trying to suggest the topic of the article isn't worthwhile, just questioning whether or not there's enough information to it to justify keeping it separate. As it stands, the article doesn't really do much more than state what years they played at what ground, information that could be easily imparted in a few lines of text – as at Queens Park Rangers F.C., for example. Another concern is that the grounds they have used are usually pre-existing venues, which have their own articles, so most of what we could say about the grounds themselves would likely be duplicating content from those. But if there is enough information available on the reasons behind the various moves, for example, then great. Jellyman (talk) 21:29, 10 April 2017 (UTC)
- Cool, cool. Yeah London Broncos and their various names since 1980 have had many grounds, and their would be hundreds of articles that start along the lines of "London have had a nomadic existence" and I would say that this is one of their more notable angles as a sporting club. I certainly take your angle that they are pre-existing stadia, but I reckon their is enough out there so as to avoid duplication.Fleets (talk) 09:15, 11 April 2017 (UTC)

If this discussion had been tagged on the talk page of List of London Broncos home grounds, I might have seen it. Glad it wasn't merged. The solution isn't difficult - there's a fair bit of sourced material on the pages of the stadia. I've started harvesting it. --Dweller (talk) Become old fashioned! 12:43, 17 August 2017 (UTC)

Suggest a name change to boost rugby leaguein London.
editLondon Broncos sounds like an imported franchise. A better name would be London Wanderers RLFC. Given the number of moves the club has made since 1980, this name would be synonymous with it's history. Hopefully they'll put down roots at AFC Wimbledon who have a proud history of rebuilding. Think about the W in Wanderers and the W in Wimbledon. The DON in WimbleDON and LonDON. More subtle marketing but retaining history and heritage.
