Fair use rationale for Image:Pge park logo2.gif

edit

Image:Pge park logo2.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

I am inferring: Multnomah Stadium 1926-unkn, Civic Stadium unkn-unkn, and PGE Park 2001-present. Please clarify. Pasadena91 (talk) 20:16, 1 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Jeld-Wen FieldJELD-WEN Field — JELD-WEN is an acronym and the stadium is known as JELD-WEN Field. According to the Portland Timbers, "All references to the Timbers' home stadium now should be JELD-WEN Field." (http://www.portlandtimbers.com/news/2011/03/timbers-jeld-wen-announce-exclusive-naming-rights-partnership-jeld-wen-field). Seenorimagined (talk) 03:23, 16 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Don't you think this should be taken up at the Jeld-Wen article first? If the company's main article isn't capitalized that way then this stadium's article surely shouldn't be. DemonJuice (talk) 03:36, 16 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
I requested for it to be changed as well. I realized I jumped the gun by changing this article text first though. Seenorimagined (talk) 03:49, 16 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
In any case, Wikipedia's naming standards prescribe common usage, not proclamations from the company. At a glance, nobody is using JELD-WEN, it appears most are using Jeld-Wen, and some are using the unhyphenated Jeld Wen. tedder (talk) 04:15, 16 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
This sounds like the Lego situation. What is this Jeld-Wen an acronym of? OK, here it is:[1]Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots04:34, 16 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
(ec) The company talk page move request says "Jeanette Coughlin thought of the name JELD-WEN, an acronym for the names of Dick's [JELD-WEN's founder's] immediate family, and a shortened version of Wendt [his last name]". I guess that was better than Dick-Jean. tedder (talk) 05:24, 16 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
Wikipedia does not like acronyms. A few random examples, besides Lego, include Amoco, Citgo and Petco. I have to say I don't agree with it, but that's the consensus. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots05:29, 16 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, probably comes from the technical issues with capitalization. In any case, this one is clear because of common usage. tedder (talk) 05:31, 16 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Huh?

"bringing top capacity to about 22,000, but with only 17,000 available for use on a regular basis." This line, under the heading 2011 Renovation, makes no sense! Will its capacity be 22,000 after the construction is finished? Does it increase to 22,000 if you pull out your spare bleachers? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.102.190.183 (talk) 17:24, 15 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

So just wanted to let everyone know, it appears we're having a problem with images being added and removed without really following the policy or MOS- i've been seeing semi-repetitive additions, along with several that have no encyclopedic value, and a couple with formatting errors. We need images that illustrate the stadium, and to paraphrase the MOS, add informational value to the page... these numerous close cropped shots of individuals or small groups, that keep getting forced in, really don't work towards that goal, especially when we have so many better options 72.35.149.153 (talk)

The comment(s) below were originally left at Talk:Providence Park/Comments, and are posted here for posterity. Following several discussions in past years, these subpages are now deprecated. The comments may be irrelevant or outdated; if so, please feel free to remove this section.

This article is very close to B-Class for the college football wikiproject. According to the assessment page, here, it needs more references and external links to move up a class, and as such could be close to Good Article status. Phydend (talk) 19:19, 25 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

World Football League

Article should mention Portland Storm/Portland Thunder of the World Football League in my opinion since they played at the venue in 1974 and 1975. 2600:1004:B146:B248:FCF7:B658:E72:8635 (talk) 02:47, 13 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
