editWhy isn't it mentioned anywhere in the article that this game was terrible compared to the first? Metacritic gives it lower reviews across the board. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.242.232.196 (talk) 14:14, 13 August 2008 (UTC)
Red Faction 2 on xbox, when i look at the back of the case, the graphics looks like doom 3, let just say it looks better than ps2
- Is this true?

Games always look decent in those tiny, tiny box shots. Think about it this way - large chunks of the original picture are reduced to single pixels in the box shot. That initial chunk could be incredibly detailed or it could be an indistinct blob. You just can't tell. In this case it's the latter. Maybe it does look better than your average PS2 title, but it was ugly as hell on PC four years ago. --203.206.183.160 15:25, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
Best Ending dispute. I can say that I have NEVER gotten the ending described below, though it has been a while, but when I had full Heroics (or something to that effect) the ending for the Loyalists upon the defeat of the Coup backing Molov was :Alias becomes Prime Minister (or a similar post), Tangier survived the fall from the Statue of Sopot and became the first leader of the newly-democratic Commonwelth, and Shrike went into something involving the Air force. Again, It has been a while, so I know the General idea about what happened to them, but not the word-for-word specifics. Also, the Commonwealth was no THE Earth government, it was AN Earth Government. The manual specifies that the Commonwealth had military challengers that were bleeding badly at the time of the general revolt, but not dead YET (Through it is highly likely that they would have been conquered had the revolt not happened). The Later I am positive of: Sopot was akin to a 21st Centuary Stalin, Hitler, Mao etc, but was NOT ruler of the ENTIRE World. The Former I am unsure of so I will alter the later and leave the former for a later time. ELV
There a few other humorous quotes within RF2. I know that in the tunnels before fighting Quill two guards discuss if the Processed can have sex and inside of the missile silo part a civilian that isn't let into a door asks, "Is this about the burnt nachos? That's the way they're supposed to be!" Can someone look into finding all of these, as I'm sure there's more. ListedRenegade 21:13, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
Actually, if you look on any gamefaq faq on RF2 or play the game yourself and get your heroics high enough to the point where it turns blue, you will get the "I remember Sopot" ending. It is, in fact, the best ending you can get (even, logically, if you think about it as to what happens with each character). I have heard rumors you can be ineligible for this ending if you kill too many civilians, making it so you can never get a blue rating even if you fill the bar. I actually played and still play this game and the original RF alot, so I am quite happy to assist with any issues. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.241.98.157 (talk) 00:26, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
Alright, I checked the manual for RF2 and it states: When the bar is blue, the player's "heroics" are highest. I then checked the programming for RF2 Pc and the game is programmed to give you "I remember Sopot" as your ending when heroics are high enough to give you a blue bar. I have changed the endings back to their correct form in which "I remember Sopot" is the best ending. Please do not change this, as every bit of evidence points toward "I remember Sopot" being the best ending. If you have not ever gotten this ending, try the following: 1) Start a new profile 2) Use no cheats 3) Kill NO civilians 4) Get every bonus objective you can (If not all) If your bar is blue when the game ends, you will get "I remember Sopot". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.241.98.157 (talk) 13:45, 26 September 2008 (UTC)
Story Section is "In-Universe"
editThe story section is too in-universe; readers with no knowledge of this game (like me) or its prequel will not understand the story. I've added a in-universe tag to this section; it needs to be cleaned up. BishopTutu 22:26, 28 December 2006 (UTC)
Also of note is that the "best" endings were mixed up. "I Remember Sopot" is actually the best, as it required you to have the most heroic points while "Glory Days" simply required the player to have more then 50% heroics. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.241.98.157 (talk) 19:45, 23 August 2008 (UTC)
Sequel
editIGN has said something about a sequel, somebody should say something about that. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.12.169.132 (talk) 21:42, 4 February 2007 (UTC).
- Looks like it's been done.
Team play
editFrom current revision: 'Previously, players were not allowed to organize teams or special modes of play. Red Faction II features Deathmatch, Bagman, Arena (all available with either individual or team play), Capture the Flag, and "Regime" (an unlockable mode equivalent to Bagman), all played across a large selection of levels.'. What does it mean, 'not allowed to organize teams'? The Windows version of RF1 (no idea about the others) had both team deathmatch and CTF, and players were allowed to switch teams at any time during a game. --DocumentN (talk) 21:33, 2 March 2008 (UTC) Subscript text
Clean Up
editThis article would better suit Wikpedia's Encyclopedic content if it were to be cleaned up. For example, the third paragraph of the intro section should be made into it's own section titled "Changes From Red Faction". Next, the story section should be summarized into 5 paragraphs or less, like in the Red Faction (series) article. Also, adding references would greatly help the article as well.
In the year 2080
editIn game character bios show the year 2161 as the year when the squad was nano-enhanced, so 2080 can't be true. This is also peculiar as the Red Faction 3 article says the events of that game take place in 2125. The manual makes no mention of any year and I didn't spot any years mentioned in-game, other than that the first mission happens two years prior to the rest of the game. --Enmoku (talk) 19:30, 18 July 2009 (UTC)
Unsupported
editI personally thought it to be totally unresponsible to NOT place the reason why this game can't be played anymore nowadays, at least by the majority of the players who own Windows 7 and GPU's wit hDX10 or higher, so I placed it with reference to it. --Jorre22225 (talk) 10:43, 7 May 2011 (UTC)
Bought it on Steam last week, just finished playing the first hour of it on an Nvidia GT240M with Windows 7 64 bit. 68.206.5.147 (talk) 11:46, 10 June 2011 (UTC)
Protected?
editWhy the hell is this page protected, and why is there no header stating it is protected?
