Di Matteo actually cost Chelsea 4.9 million, not 4.5 million as stated. The article might be confusing Di Matteo's transfer fee with Zola, who cost 4.5 million. It is true that at the time Di Matteo's 4.9 million transfer fee was a club record. BoDiddley

Doubtless the images on the poster were not yours to distribute.

Why is the "Worldwide view" thing there? Ok, it is mainly based on his time a Chelsea, but that was the most significant period of his career. Some more about his time at Lazio would nice, granted. 58.170.121.199 14:39, 14 May 2007 (UTC)Rusty8.Reply

Who's been updating game results before the games have ended? Stop it, you cheeky buggers.

Can someone please stop putting that 'Di Matteo has gone down further in lore' or whatever just because they won the Champions League... the guy has only been there for five minutes as the *Manager*; he's hardly Alex Ferguson. Making that sort of comment is 'personal opinion' and is not a neutral statement presenting the facts, as it should be.

Fastest cup final goal

edit

The article states that Di Matteo's was the fastest goal in cup final history until Saha beat that in 2009. As an historian of the competition I can catagorically state this is not the case. Bob Chatt's goal for Aston Villa in the 1895 final was eleven seconds faster that Di Matteo's, coming in 31 seconds. The statement in the article would perhaps be more accurate if it stated that he scored the fastest goal of a twentieth century cup final and, at the time the second fastest of all time.
