oakland bay bridge
editis it really notable to mention that people drive across the oakland bay bridge to jump off the golden gate? The oakland bay bridge is impossible to access as a pedestrian. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 209.210.75.70 (talk) 04:24, 9 January 2007 (UTC).
intro
editThe intro needs to be revised a bit. The introductory sentence, "It is a well-known phenomenon that certain bridges are especially popular for people attempting suicide." is not in an encyclopedic tone. Well-known? --W3stfa11 16:13, 28 January 2007 (UTC)
Anti-Suicide barriers
editPerhaps the discussion of anti-suicide barriers at the Golden Gate Bridge should mention that Jim Jones (of Jonestown murder-suicide fame) proposed the barrier. 68.83.72.162 (talk) 10:07, 16 December 2008 (UTC)
Gateway Bridge, Brisbane
editPerhaps someone should mention the Gateway Bridge in Brisbane, Australia. It was once quite common for people to stop their cars on the bridge and initiate suicide, until barriers were installed... People were committing suicide of the new gateway bridge before it wa still being built

editWhy does this article exist? It seems to be original research, in the sense that the phrase "suicide bridge" is not actually used to refer to anything in reality, and the term is being invented or popularized by this article. --76.224.94.69 (talk) 00:19, 17 November 2007 (UTC)
- Hornsey Lane Bridge in Archway, London is most definitely called this throughout London and would be recognized through much of the UK as referring to that bridge. 86.166.180.242 (talk) 22:01, 5 November 2010 (UTC)
- This article exists because of notability. I visited one ( Mapo ), and live by another ( Golden Gate ). This article may prevent some suicides, but that is not any intentional purpose of wikipedia, which seems to drive people to these bridges. 170.75.140.124 (talk) 18:09, 17 September 2020 (UTC)
Nanjing Bridge
editThe Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge should be included. ShakyIsles (talk) 08:46, 28 May 2013 (UTC)
Yes. Actually, reading that the Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge has more than 2000 recorded suicides, the 1200 events quoted for this bridge are an unconvincing argument to make it the most popular suicide site. 80.135.140.111 (talk) 00:29, 11 June 2013 (UTC)
- Also notable is the man who talks people out of suicide. 170.75.140.124 (talk) 18:10, 17 September 2020 (UTC)
- Actually, I am dumber than a rock, the man already has his own wikipedia page, for notability:
