Other Movie?

edit

Does anyone else think that there ought to be an article about the Savages film of 1972. That film is remarkable merely because while well received in Europe, it was universally panned in the United States. This may have been due to the many languages required to understand the dialog of the film.

I am unsure on how to create a disambiguation page or to request the creation of another page. Mercruz (talk) 01:07, 25 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:SavagesPosterChrisWare.jpg

edit

Image:SavagesPosterChrisWare.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Cultural references

edit

I added a {{Prose}} tag to the section listing almost two dozen cultural references with no explanation of how any of them are relevant to this movie. On second thought, I think I am just going to remove the section entirely. Listing all the references in a movie to other works of art really is not relevant except possibly for a documentary movie about those other works of art.

Practically any movie is going to make incidental reference to other works, and listing those references is no more useful to someone coming to Wikipedia for information about a movie than listing all the car models or types of lamps seen in the movie. They all come under the general category of lists of trivia, which are not appropriate in an encyclopedia article.

If anyone wants to restore some of the items in this list with explanations in prose of how each one is relevant to the movie, please do so. Such an addition could be useful; but a long list like this without explanations is of no use to the typical Wikipedia user.--Jim10701 (talk) 03:02, 9 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
