J.R. Barberio is currently living in Banbury, Oxfordshire, England.

Unfortunately suffers from CFS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome), a debilitating condition for which there is no known cure as yet. Was previously employed by Torex Health, as a systems administration consultant for major hospital trusts and individual hospitals.

During the late 90's studied in Rycotewood in Oxfordshire, then went on to the Computing and Mathematics School at Brookes University in Oxford. During the stay at the CMS I learnt the basics of UNIX, software engineering, and how the Internet works. Continued to study such arcane things as Cisco routers, and PHP code. As a member of the ICANN@large membership has been telepresent at many of the ICANN general meetings in order to express concern over the maintenance of the Internet and associated systems and legislation. But has since decided that programming just isn't worth the stress involved, and only sysadmins home computers.

As an Artist, has self published a short run comic book and written for a well established Internet authors group. (Not going to say which one, but it has a Wikipedia Article. A glorious noprize to people who work it out.) Prior to developing CFS, worked as a Semi-Professional Actor, primarily on stage. Unfortunately, now has to concentrate primarily on writing due to loosing fine dexterity control and stamina. Is currently in the progress of writing a professional novel, a science fiction murder mystery.

Dislikes writing self-referential bios, especially in third person, and should just make it all up and claim to be an ArchBishop Nobel Prize Winning Mountain Climber. This is the Internet, its not like you can verify any of this.

"Stop Picking on my Edits!"

edit

I have a tendancy to get cranky, and do not have a whole load of tact. If you've had your edit reverted, with a blunt comment, don't take it personaly. It won't be meant personaly. Unless you start doing thing's which will make it personal. At which point I'll start ignoring your comments. Mostly to stop me getting over heated.

As previously stated, I've worked for the NHS, and I'm a Recovering Sysadmin, if you think I will let Internet Stress get to me after that, you're mistaken.

So far in my time on the wiki, I've been described as clueless, argumentative, biased, incompetent, sketchy, worse-than-amateurish, incomplete, and pathetic stubborn nitwit who persisted in trying to fill major articles with erroneous, highly-biased POV, based on ignorance, prejudice, and personal research. And all of that was from the same person! So atempts to belittle me should at least surpass that.

I'm currently on wikibreak from editing main page content, but I am active in the discussions to reform honesty and accountability and may return to active editing pending the result of this reform.

Recent Projects

edit

Wikipedia:External Links - Lots of work on getting a ground-up rewrite of the guidelines, to remove the cruft of rule creep, reduce the poor readability problems, and generally give it a good shake up to see what loose things fell out.

Wikipedia:Good Article Collaboration of the week - Giving this a bit more publicity on the Wiki, and doing some tidy up work. Handling rotation of the articles, and where suitable making nominations to WP:FAC.

History of the Internet - Massive rewrite to Globalize, and reflect the use of existing infrastructure in the spread of the Internet. Lots of readability edits. Information on spread of the Internet over Europe, Australia and Africa. Maybe I can push this for Featured Article quality.

Congress of the United States - Managed to get ethnic make up, and women in congress back into the article. Raised the question 'Can someone hold a position in both house and senate at the same time?', which then lead to a conversation with the Senate History Office, and brought up some interesting information on the history, rules and traditions that govern Restrictions on office holding. Trimmed down the lengthy History section, after History of Congress of the United States became a separate article. Added information on the constitution of Joint Sessions.

Eisenstadt v. Baird - Expanded into full article from Stub.

Intolerable Acts - Clarified the Quebec act's inclusion in the Intolerable Acts. Removed a claim that Quebec was neutral during the War of Independence.

Live 8 - Tracked and updated during the event.
