Revert on My Mother the Car

The reason the revert was labeled vandalism is that the author of the edits is a banned user and the edits were done in defiance of an indefinite block. The editor is a persistent and frequent vandal, and to date has created over 35 sockpuppet accounts for the purpose of vandalism. His edits are now being reverted regardless of merit. Please examine the notice on his talk page and you'll see why the edit was reverted as vandalism. Scanners (musical group)

Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Scanners (musical group), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. As you did on 30 October 2008, would you be so kind as to revert the Zevia page to your last edit? Since that time, the SPA using Wikipedia for an attack mission has edited again. This user has a history of and has been warned against improperly altering content (please see User_talk:Openthedoorfornow). LGBT politicians

Category:LGBT politicians is never applied directly to an individual person; it's only a container for more specific subcategories. If you have a validly sourced reason to switch Jóhanna Sigurðardóttir's category from "lesbian" to "bisexual", that would be okay; if you are aware of enough additional articles to create Category:LGBT politicians from Iceland instead, that would be okay too. But switching her from "lesbian" to "LGBT" isn't appropriate, because the "LGBT" parent category isn't supposed to have anybody directly in it at all. Bearcat (talk) 22:58, 24 April 2010 (UTC)

Seoul City Sue Infobox

You recently removed the place and cause of death from the Seoul City Sue infobox with the note "these are unreferenced and aren't explained in the article". They were referred to in the "Later Life" section, and cited by footnote #51. If the citation seems insufficient, what is your objection? Cmholm (talk) 21:01, 10 June 2011 (UTC)

• The reference says he "heard" she was "shot". The reference doesn't specify that she was actually executed by firing squad, but the infobox nevertheless proclaimed that she died in such a manner. And what it does say about her possible death was admittedly hearsay, rather than conclusive. Therefore, the cause of her death is inconclusive. Yet it was included in the infobox as though it were fact.
• "North Korea" was apparently just an assumption, because the location given for her supposed killing was not specified.

Chinese speaker needed for DR on Commons

Hi. I came to your page because I'm looking for a Chinese speaker who can help out with a deletion request on Commons. commons:Commons:Deletion requests/File:Penile curvature-TW.jpg is about several images a user uploaded of annotated penis diagrams, with a UNESCO logo in the bottom right. The user seems to want to try and correct their mistake, but they're not a native english speaker and are using google translate to speak to us, which isn't optimal. We were hoping a native Chinese speaker might be able to sort things out for us.

• There is no such requirement for categories. But the main article should mention that the subject dropped out of high school. The list you mentioned lists The Celebrity Almanac, (c) 1991, by Ed Lucaire as one of the references. I am not sure if that is a reliable source. Also for Melina Mercouri for example, her article does not mention anything about her dropping out of school. The article for Roger Mooore mentions that he went to college and nothing about dropping out of high school. Making mass changes this way and so fast can lead to many inaccuracies imo. Hi there. You know, don't you, that we don't have something called "High School" in the UK? But notwithstanding the inappropriateness of that particular category name, including both Starkey and Woodward in such a category somewhat blurs the real reason for their premature absence from secondary school, which can be explained in a different way? Wikipedia has long since decided that categorising people as high school dropouts is inappropriate (see here), and the category will soon be emptied speedily deleted as the recreation of previously deleted content. To clarify my intent in having added this category to the articles of those whose names were listed: Most of the people to whom it applies are exceptional achievers despite not having acquired a high school (or equivalent) diploma, something that society commonly views as a basic prerequisite for success in life. The simple categorization of these achievers as "dropouts" therefore goes against the idea of the term "dropouts" as being synonymous with "losers". I posit that this category acknowledging that part of their lives is worthwhile and no less worthy of inclusion than many other categories on Wikipedia. It may not be a defining characteristic, but that doesn't mean it's not a relevant one.

Adding this category isn't intended as "mud slinging" (a term used by someone in favor of deleting a previous incarnation of the category, in the 2-person vote linked above). On the contrary.Adrigon (talk) 23:40, 2 December 2015 (UTC)
