SLIET

edit

Hi, Singh - I started working on SLIET but didn't get past the lede when I realized how late it was, so I'll resume in the morning. We don't cite passages in the lede unless you think it will be challenged. You should probably start a SLIET project in your sandbox and get your sections and section titles laid out. Take a look at Virginia Tech, and the University of Houston so you will be able to maintain consistency and style as you develop your article. I'll come back and copy edit when time permits. Infobox Flags

edit

Hey there, please refrain from introducing flagicons to infoboxes as there a policy against it. As WP:INFOBOXFLAG states "flag icons should not be used in infoboxes, even when there is a "country", "nationality" or equivalent field: they are unnecessarily distracting and give undue prominence to one field among many." I assume that you weren't aware of this policy and I hope you will take necessary steps to remove them, so that I don't have to. Cheers! -- Chamith (talk) 18:24, 6 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Furthermore, it's crucial to verify by citing reliable sources before declaring someone's nationality on biographies. If you fail to do so your content addition(s) can be challenged and be reverted by anyone who disagrees. -- Chamith (talk) 18:28, 6 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Speedy deletion nomination of Charles E. Wyman

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Charles E. Wyman requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://www.engr.ucr.edu/faculty/chemenv/wyman.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. reddogsix (talk) 00:03, 3 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

Regarding Reconsideration

edit

Hi every one Anup [Talk], Shawn in Montreal (talk), David Gerard (talk)

Okay going towards everything yes it's me all behind everything making an article on flo2cash and Ankur Dharmani but as described about Dharmani, before on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ankur Dharmani. I apologize and i'm trying to fix it as i saw a news few days back on Facebook then i Googled and i thought it's a good thing/article to start a page on flo2cash because in New Zealand there was no article on Fintech companies and it's one of best futuristics companies based in New Zealand as concerned towards fin tech (let me tell you i'm not in any relation of the company and person, it's only my reflection and my work).

But later in my absence someone else edited the flo2cash i don't know since i'm bit new on Wikipedia, not a pro so i don't know how to get information about the USER who edited so that i can warn him/her. Yes Live Mint was a mistake as i copy pasted some of my references form my previous article as i forgot to make correction. After making the page on flo2cash i thought it's good to even write an article on his CEO(as described before), yes bit low with the data but yes now i have everything for consideration(it's not for the purpose of advertisement). So pardon me for everything i will fix and would like to request to make a reconsideration for both article for not putting it for deletion, for instance please help in making contribution towards the articles. Managing a conflict of interest

edit

  Hello, Afrojack255. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. Nick-D (talk) 11:18, 12 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

I've posted this notification as your editing pattern (which include articles on an obscure financial firm and its even more obscurer founder in New Zealand and a professor with business interests in the US, complete with photos of these people you claim to have taken) strongly suggest that you are a paid editor who is not disclosing their conflicts of interest, including in the current articles for deletion discussions. Nick-D (talk) 11:21, 12 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

Sir Nick-D (talk) thank you for you time and agreed with these deletion. But i request not to blame for any relation with external people and i'm not getting paid for any conflict as per the policies. Yes i agree that i'm trying too much for the article to be patrol but think that both article doesn't deserved to be patrolled since they are less with data and im sorry and it's as you are only giving your policies but i'm not getting any compensation for that i mean seriously. I mean who gets paid for Wikipedia from New Zealand to India and a Professor form US named Charles E. Wyman even. Still pardon me sir it was all my contorversies and yes the deletion should be made. Charles E. Wyman was a good article who nobody tried to make and as per google there were 4.1 milllion results so article should be there and ofcourse i later made the change.. ...still its there and later nobody made deletion after my change of some correction.Thank you for your time sir i'll try my best to give my best as per your advice.

Asian 10,000 Challenge invite

edit

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 01:01, 20 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

New deal for page patrollers

edit

Hi Afrojack255,

In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.

Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.

Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:28, 13 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Conflict of interest

edit

  Hello, Afrojack255. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the article Bhrigu Nath Singh, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. Editing for the purpose of advertising or promotion is not permitted. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID). Other COI articles you edit include Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology, and ICTACEM. Bright☀ 08:54, 12 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Deletion discussion about Until Love Sets Us Apart

edit

Hello, Afrojack255, and welcome to Wikipedia. I edit here too, under the username DanCherek, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Until Love Sets Us Apart, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Until Love Sets Us Apart .

You might like to note that such discussions usually run for seven days and are not ballot-polls. And, our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|DanCherek}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Proposed deletion of U n Me... It's Complicated!

edit

Hello, Afrojack255

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username DanCherek, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've proposed an article that you started, U n Me... It's Complicated!, for deletion because it meets one or more of our deletion criteria, and I don't think that it is suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. The particular issue can be found in the notice that is now visible at the top of the article.

If you wish to contest the deletion:

  1. Edit the page
  2. Remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. Click the Publish changes button.

If you object to the article's deletion, please remember to explain why you think the article should be kept on the article's talk page and improve the page to address the issues raised in the deletion notice. Otherwise, it may be deleted later by other means.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|DanCherek}}. And remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. Thanks!

Hi there, thanks for the wishes! Happy Diwali to you as well.
