Can you elaborate in the rejection of my draft

edit

Hello! i see that you rejected my draft yesterday, and you commented that it needed "more citations", when the article is filled with citations. Could you elaborate/or say what needed more citations if you bother asking. Jaztie não é árabe (talk) 17:27, 1 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

  • "In Spite of a distingct lack of fighting on either side of the Insurgency in Ecuador, the strife continues and likely will continue to do so for many years to come, the Insurgency could grow with the recent Ecuadorian Security Crisis and the 2024 Ecuadorian Conflict." This reads like an essay
  • CAR had built camps in the region on the same year. - needs citations
  • After FARC broke in 2016, it´s dissidents started operating on Ecuador, in border towns with Colombia. - Either this has no citations or this is unclear
  • However thanks to the low living conditions and the constant spillover of the Shining Path & FARC, an insurgency would slowly emerge. - unclear or missing citations
ABG (Talk/Report any mistakes here) 05:55, 2 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
About the FARC part it is not unclear, FARC ceased to exist in 2016, and groups started to split of it and continue Armed activity. They are called "FARC Dissidents", there's even an article about them in wikipedia. They also did armed activity in Ecuador, which i did add some of their attacks in the article, and sourced. Jaztie não é árabe (talk) 16:05, 3 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
Alright, please keep in mind that a lot of people expect to see citations at the end of paragraphs in articles, with the exception of the lead, so it can confuse the hell out of editors. You might want to copy the citation from that article and paste it into the draft. ABG (Talk/Report any mistakes here) 23:42, 3 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
? The citations are in the end of the paragraphs. Jaztie não é árabe (talk) 18:41, 9 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
And you didn't respond about what i said that it wasn't unclear? Jaztie não é árabe (talk) 18:42, 9 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
The Phrases with citations in the end of the Paragraphs are retired from another article. Jaztie não é árabe (talk) 18:50, 9 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
And the citations are in the end of the phrase, after the point. Jaztie não é árabe (talk) 18:51, 9 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

Question from Jplugz (05:32, 7 November 2024)

edit

Hi, please could you help me check to see if my draft is much better and devoid of promotional content. --Jplugz (talk) 05:32, 7 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello, it seems you have 2 drafts about the same subject, which one do I look at? ABG (Talk/Report any mistakes here) 05:44, 7 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
Sorry about that. I thought the first was deleted. Kindly look at the most recent draft. Jplugz (talk) 05:57, 7 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
Well、do you want the 1st one to be deleted or something? Also, the 1st one is the User:Jplugz, right? ABG (Talk/Report any mistakes here) 05:58, 7 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
Yes please, I want the first one - User:Jplugz, which is promotional in tone to be deleted. Thank you Jplugz (talk) 06:01, 7 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
Done someone deleted the page. I'll look on the draft in the next 24 hours. ABG (Talk/Report any mistakes here) 06:52, 7 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
Please I don’t mean to bother you but it’s the draft I would have wanted you to review that has been deleted. No problems though, I would draft another for your review. Thank you for your time and patience. Jplugz (talk) 07:14, 7 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
(talk page gnome) I see that another page you made, User:Jplugz/Felix Remi Adejumo, was moved (which means it's not at its old title anymore, and might look like it was deleted.) Was this the one you were thinking of? Nyakase (talk ) 08:52, 7 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
Yes. That’s the one I was thinking of when I said it could be deleted. I’m quite new here and sometimes may have challenges navigating my way around. The reason for the move was to get it to the main space for approval, but I think I didn’t do that exactly as it should have been done. Thank you, Nyakase. DYK for School lunch in Japan

edit

On 9 November 2024, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article School lunch in Japan, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that crab is served in school meals in Toyama Prefecture? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/School lunch in Japan. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, School lunch in Japan), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Question from Ulfbercht (18:34, 9 November 2024)

edit

Hello Radiant :) First time editor, i am at a confliction which page to edit. The page "signed zero" is a computer science term and not a mathematical term. which i would like to introduce everyone to. look up sqrt-a, it's empty. while -0 is taken by "signed zero" i have already committed to a professor the equation -0=sqrt-a, so my dilemma. one side of the equation is a blank page and the other is taken by computer science, my question is can i add a new page called -0 (mathematics)? but that would entail a distinction to signed zero (computer science)

too much to start? --Ulfbercht (talk) 18:34, 9 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

You should probably read Help:Your first article, which gives you a thorough guide to making articles. You should be aware that articles needs to pass notability guidelines, although mathematical articles are completely out of my scope. I recommend making a draft and taking your draft through the Articles for Creation process, which will prevent new pages from being speedy deleted. ABG (Talk/Report any mistakes here) 23:12, 9 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for the speedy answer, why wasn't i notified someone replayed to my question? before entering this section of Wikipedia i found a small section of math i can edit, And i quote "But the result is clearly nonsense". Face palm.
Imaginary number#Square roots of negative numbers
What i am planing to start with but not today. Ulfbercht (talk) 20:56, 10 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
First edit, Grammar mistake. Equality can be plural. As in the sum of many Equalities( mathematics). Ulfbercht (talk) 14:52, 16 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Ulfbercht: That first edit is actually a mistake. See your talk page with the explanation  . - DVdm (talk) 15:05, 16 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
@DVdm Thank you for the grammar explanation however, The mathematical explanation is wrong.
Arithmetic counting action with squaroots is a fallacy, Mathematics starts from Pythagoras https://mathshistory.st-andrews.ac.uk/Biographies/Pythagoras/ You can argue pi was first.
See my talk page extended explanation. Ulfbercht (talk) 19:14, 19 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

Question from Jplugz (23:15, 9 November 2024)

edit

Could you please help check my new draft. --Jplugz (talk) 23:15, 9 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

You really would want to make drafts in draft spaces. ABG (Talk/Report any mistakes here) 23:17, 9 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
I'm sorry I don’t understand. Please, could you be more precise. Jplugz (talk) 00:23, 10 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
Oh, uhh, you seem to be drafting in your user page. I can move it to the draftspace (Draft:namehere) if you want. ABG (Talk/Report any mistakes here) 04:38, 10 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
Kindly do so, the goal is to get my article reviewed and published. thank you Jplugz (talk) 05:02, 10 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

Article Submission for Review

edit

Please review my article and advise on what to do to publish if approved. Jplugz (talk) 07:49, 10 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

  • The article has a general list of references, but the statement each reference points to remains quite unclear because there are no footnotes.
  • There are little to no lead. Lead should be kind of an overview. An example of a lead section is this, although it doesn't have to be this large considering the article subject doesn't have much to document on.
  • There may be a slight tone issue - but I'm not really good at raising red flags on those.
@Jplugz, sorry for being slow.

Draftifying Draft:Mali–Ukraine relations

edit

Hello AlphaBetaGamma -- When you move something to draft, you need to notify the creator where exactly it now is explicitly, which you don't seem to have done in your message, as far as I can see? Otherwise they are likely to just keep recreating it, as happened here. Regards, Espresso Addict (talk) 08:20, 10 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

Draft:Ruger LC Carbine

edit

Can you help edit the Ruger LC Carbine page so it can gain approval? I can’t do it by myself. I publish the page for review to give others the opportunity to edit the page so it can gain approval. Stormm001 (talk) 20:31, 13 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

I'm busy in real life right now, and my editing activity is slowing down, so I can't really do much. Sorry. ABG (Talk/Report any mistakes here) 22:28, 14 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

edit

Helli where doI click to create a new article? --Digital Footprints Kenya (talk) 19:01, 14 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello, it seems that from your name you may have a conflict of interest. I'll send you a talk message, so please read it. ABG (Talk/Report any mistakes here) 22:26, 14 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
as for creating pages, you cannot make one directly for now - you will be automatically granted the right to directly make mainspace articles when you have enough experience. ABG (Talk/Report any mistakes here) 22:28, 14 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

Question from Mary Bufe

edit

Hi! Back in October, you identified a link that was missing on the Nextracker article I've been working on. I immediately found and replaced the missing link and then checked all the other links to make sure they were live. (One was not, so I fixed that, too.) Do you think you might check on this page? It appears to have been edited and *seems* close to being published. Thanks very much for your good work and for considering this request. Mary Bufe (talk) 19:19, 18 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
