Edit warring

edit

Hi Bandwagon98! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of Radhe Shyam several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.

All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree at Talk:Radhe Shyam, please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Please refrain from adding uncredited names without a valid sources. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Don (2022 film), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Soori. Exceeding word limit

edit

Bandwagon98, Plot summaries should be between 400 and 700 words per WP:FILMPLOT. Re this edit, the hidden note clearly indicates that the word count is already 691, yet you went ahead added additional details, forcing other editors to clean it up again. Please listen to the concern of fellow editors and act accordingly. Thanks -- Ab207 (talk) 14:18, 5 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hello again, Bandwagon98. These additions to the plot are exceeding the 700-word limit by a margin. Please don't exceed the limit by adding unnecessary details and force other editors to revert your additions to maintain the word limit.
Also, please leave accurate edit summaries like 'expanded plot' in this case instead of misleading ones like Fixed typo/Fixed grammar. Thanks. -- Ab207 (talk) 12:42, 21 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, but a recent edit of yours has an edit summary that appears to be inadequate, inaccurate, or inappropriate. The summaries are helpful to people browsing an article's history, so it is important that you use edit summaries that accurately tell other editors what you did. Feel free to use the sandbox to make test edits.

Many of your edit summaries say "Fixed typo" for edits that not fixing typographical errors. This is misleading. Please ensure your edit summaries are fair and accurate summaries of the edits performed. Thank you.

Misleading and vague edit summaries

edit

Hello @Bandwagon98. I have noticed that in your edits that your edit summaries, when you do provide them (which appears to be rare), are frequently misleading (stating a reason that did not accurately describe your actual edit) or vague to the point of being functionally equivalent to providing no summary at all.

For example, your recent edits to Chatrapathi (2023 film) included these:

  • [3] – no edit summary provided, but an unsourced claim was made
  • [4] – edit summary "Added links" that did a lot more than just add links. It added a substantial element to the infobox. This is a misleading edit summary.
  • [5] – edit summary "Added links" that did a lot more than just add links. It changed the prose. This is a misleading edit summary.
  • [6] – edit summary "Added links" that did a lot more than just add links. It added cast members without citing published reliable source(s) to verify them. This is a misleading edit summary.

Here is what Help:Edit summary states (among other things):

  • Avoid misleading summaries. Mentioning one change but not another one can be misleading to someone who finds the other one more important. You could add something like "and misc." to cover the other changes.
  • Avoid vagueness. While edit summaries can be terse, they should still be specific. Providing an edit summary similar to "I made some changes" is functionally equivalent to not providing a summary at all.

Please do better. If you need help on who to write a good edit summary, see WP:EDITSUMCITE.  — Archer1234 (t·c) 14:06, 30 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Need help to discuss and get consensus on cast for Agent (film)

edit

Hello @Bandwagon98. There are several editors persistently changing the cast list at Agent (film) and it is difficult to get agreement when changes are being made repeatedly. We could use your help. I am inviting you to participate in the discussion at Talk:Agent (film)#Cast section: seeking consensus. I would like to hear your thoughts on what the cast listing should and should not include and why. Will you join the conversation?  — Archer1234 (t·c) 18:42, 28 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello @Bandwagon98. Regarding your recent edit to Agent (film) where you made changes to the cast list, note that the "Cast" section is disputed and a discussion topic has been started to seek consensus. I, ask that you not make any changes to the Cast section until we can reach consensus on the talk page. Since you have interest in this article and in that section, in particular, your participation in the talk page discussion would be most welcome. Thank you.  — Archer1234 (t·c) 19:18, 28 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
Hello again @Bandwagon98. Your recent edit to the "Cast" section of Agent (film) appears to be ignoring the situation that the section is in dispute and that we are seeking to get consensus on the talk page for what the section should contain and say. Are you going to ignore the discussion at Talk:Agent_(film)#Cast_section:_seeking_consensus? I would prefer to collaborate with you, but, obviously, cannot compel you to do so. However, if you continue to make edits when you know the section is contentious, then I will raise the issue at an administrator's noticeboard for their help and disposition. Administrator actions could possibly include full or partial blocking of your account. Won't you, instead, join in the discussion? Thanks.  — Archer1234 (t·c) 21:12, 28 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Shah Rukh Khan. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Your changes have been reverted time and again by multiple users. Use Talk:Shah Rukh Khan#Lead changes to make a case for your changes instead of edit-warring. FrB.TG (talk) 17:07, 26 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add or change content, as you did at Nandha Periyasamy, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Jeraxmoira🐉 (talk) 04:50, 10 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Please stop. If you continue to add unsourced or poorly sourced content, as you did at Mahesh Babu, you may be blocked from editing.  — Archer1234 (t¡c) 05:44, 18 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Stop changing genres

edit

You have been messing with genres on Guntur Kaaram even though the sources clearly state action-drama. Stop this ASAP. 77Survivor (talk) 10:37, 11 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

April 2024

edit

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you add unsourced or poorly sourced material to Wikipedia, as you did at Yuva (2024 film). In addition to the soundtrack NOT being sourced, it was removed based on being a COATrack. Please see edit summaries as this was already reverted previously. Use talk page if you feel it meets inclusion criteria. CNMall41 (talk) 04:20, 1 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm Archer1234. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Nani filmography, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page.

Per WP:FILMOGRAPHY: we do not add future film projects until filming has begun as verified by a reliable source.

@Bandwagon98, This is a friendly advice. I had come to your user talk page to make a different help request, but ended up being surprised that you know at least user talk page discussion procedure and still you seem to be ignoring important notices by other users. Yours is a 2 years old account with over 10k edits and ignoring notices by other users may not be helpful. You need to engage in discussions and address the issues where other users are concerned about your edits.

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at Varshangalkku Shesham. Once again, you are adding unsourced OR to movie reviews. Nowhere in the citation you provided had the terms positive reviews or similar texts. Please be extra careful not to use WP:OR or WP:SYNTH. Thanks. Requesting some article expansion help

Greetings @Bandwagon98

Requesting your visit to My Choice (2015 film) (still a draft in my userspace) and help expand the topic areas if you find topic interesting. Wish you very happy Wikipedia editing.

Numbers less than ten

read Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Dates and numbers#Numbers. Integers from zero to nine are spelled out in words. DareshMohan (talk) 16:08, 31 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello, see my TP and the exceptions in the guideline; I think that numbers might be acceptable (and I sometimes see them; and use them myself (I may be wrong)). Better not start an edit war over this, I'd say. Have a look: Joker_(2019_film)#Critical_response for example. I had seen other GAs with numbers but cannot locate them anymore! Still, the precise sentence you are linking is a bit different, not just the mention of a XX/XX out of rating, but a sentence with a verb (he gave the film ...), so maybe different (and maybe more a case for letters), as it is the case in the following FA Jaws_(film)#Critical_reception or that A-article Rang_De_Basanti#Critical_reception, or in the GA Bethune: The Making of a Hero, and Angel_Heart.... ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message

edit

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:51, 19 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
