Hello, I'm Saadrafiq4. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Bakaffa, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Saadrafiq4 (talk) 10:42, 29 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Illustrated manuscript images

edit

Just fyi, the formal policy reason to revert your edit to Illustrated manuscript is given at MOS:IMAGES. In brief, it says that images in articles are to illustrate the text, not to decorate it. The article already has more images than are needed. I have no doubt that there are other articles that are under-illustrated to please don't be discouraged. 𝕁𝕄𝔽 (talk) 10:16, 1 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Images make Wikipedia more informative, accessible, and professional.

In general, when working with images:
DO:
Review the image style guide and use policy.
Give context with captions and alt text.
Try to find at least one image for each article.
Find free images, or create and upload your own.
Clean up images: crop, color-correct, etc.
Use the best file format for each image.
Use objects for scale where helpful.
Place images in the section to which they are related
DON'T:
  Don't upload non-free images.
Don't use images in place of tables or charts.
Don't use images or galleries excessively.
Don't add images that are not relevant.
Don't flip faces, text, or works of art.
  Don't set fixed image sizes.
Don't sandwich text between two images.
Don't refer to images by their placement.
Don't place images too early or at the end of sections.

There is a discussion about the images at Talk:Ethiopia#Removed image spam. Wikipedia ia a collabortively edited encyclopedia. Joining in the discussion would help sort out the use of images on the article. -- Whpq (talk) 18:10, 13 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Changing images

edit

You need to stop changing the images of peoples infobox without prior approval. It is borderline disruptive. We usually only add high quality portraits of world leaders into their infobox. On Yohannes IV for example you added an illustrated deception of him even though we already have a high quality photograph of Yohannes. Please read MOS:IMAGERELEVANCE. محرر البوق (talk) 02:29, 24 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
