Ref link?

Geraldo, can you please try the ref link added in this edit and see if it works? And, if doesn't please feel free to revert. Thanks. --IJBall (contribstalk) 06:10, 24 October 2021 (UTC)

@IJBall: The link https://www.chicagotribune.com/entertainment/ct-xpm-2011-04-26-ct-live-0427-danielle-campbell-prom-20110426-story.html works for me. Geraldo Perez (talk) 06:15, 24 October 2021 (UTC)
Very odd – I get a generic splash page, with no article. So you either have to be a subscriber, or perhaps be accessing it from a certain state (near Illinois?). Or perhaps a cookie issue. Regardless, I am not seeing that article. --IJBall (contribstalk) 06:18, 24 October 2021 (UTC)

WP:CWW template?

Geraldo, is there any kind of WP:UW template for improper article splits that don't follow WP:CWW? Because we've just gotten one at List of Chicken Girls episodes... Thanks. --IJBall (contribstalk) 04:32, 26 October 2021 (UTC)

@IJBall: {{uw-copying}} for the copy without attribution. Geraldo Perez (talk) 04:39, 26 October 2021 (UTC)

All That picture format

Not 100% sure if it's correct or verifiable through the article (or through the individual season articles), but I've changed this from the aspect ratios. Would you be able to doublecheck this? Magitroopa (talk) 18:01, 26 October 2021 (UTC)

@Magitroopa: Those are correct per the dates and network. I generally don't have problems with NTSC up to the 2009 digital television transition in the United States and some HDTV format correct for the network after that. My general issue is HDTV formats before 2009 and NTSC after for the major networks or multiple formats without dates attached. Those I'd like to see sourced as sometimes different shows on the same network did different things. Generally I just remove stuff as unsourced if I'm not sure. Geraldo Perez (talk) 18:13, 26 October 2021 (UTC)

Brittany Underwood

Geraldo, can you please check the image recently added to this article? I can tell it's from a Lifetime movie that Underwood did, so I am about 100% sure that this represents an image we can't use on Wikipedia for a WP:BLP. (Note: That editor who keeps reverting on this looks like a problematic case based on the editor's talk page messages...) Thanks. --IJBall (contribstalk) 03:09, 4 November 2021 (UTC)

@IJBall: It is not an image of Brittany Underwood, it is an image of a character she portrays, Allyson, in the movie trailer cited as the source. Actor as character images should not be used to represent the appearance of actors in their bio articles, the character is a creation of the film and does not reflect the natural appearance of the actor. As to copyright the free-use release is from the production company of the film this screenshot is from so the release is valid. It is not a verified account but both the production website and YouTube account point to each other so can't really reject it based on not being from a non-verified account. Geraldo Perez (talk) 03:28, 4 November 2021 (UTC)
That has always been my understanding – you can't images of "characters" for WP:BLPs. So quite aside from whether or not it's a WP:COPYVIO or not, it still should not be used at the article. --IJBall (contribstalk) 03:49, 4 November 2021 (UTC)
That said, I'm not going to revert again, but somebody should, whether or not the image is deleted or not. --IJBall (contribstalk) 03:50, 4 November 2021 (UTC)
To add. Still awaiting license review from Commons. It is possible they may reject it due to not coming from a verified account. Geraldo Perez (talk) 03:33, 4 November 2021 (UTC)

Hi. Just wanted to let you know that this wasn't only "excessive and unnecessary expansion", it was vandalism too. ภץאคгöร 15:35, 6 November 2021 (UTC)

List of Disney Channel original films

Need more eyes here – IP is changing sourcing. It is one thing to update a URL. But it's another to change the original publisher/originator of the material – that is not kosher. --IJBall (contribstalk) 01:23, 7 November 2021 (UTC)

@IJBall: Looks like the company changed their name and updated their website with new links to old content. Original link is redirected to the new link as the IP updated. Seems kind of pointless to update a working link, even if redirected, though. Geraldo Perez (talk) 01:31, 7 November 2021 (UTC)
It's not just that – at the redirected link, it still says "Multichannel News" at the top, it does not say "NextTV". So what the IP doing is completely incorrect. --IJBall (contribstalk) 01:41, 7 November 2021 (UTC)
The last and most definitive statement that can be made is that you made an incorrect assessment. You threw live bodies into graves and insisted they were dead. It’s right there in the content you reverted. If information is living at a new address, wouldn’t you want that updated? I was most certainly not being disruptive and you still won’t own up to that--141.157.254.24 (talk) 03:56, 7 November 2021 (UTC)

Andi Mack and Joshua Bassett

With regard to Andi Mack, is that recently added category relevant/defining/necessary?

With regard to Joshua Bassett, information regarding him being hospitalized back in January of this year was recently added to the article. Is the source reliable? See the fifth paragraph or block of text, starting with Unprompted, Bassett tells me a different story about "Drivers License." The next block of text after that also seems to confirm his coming out, because I wasn't sure about it when we discussed it at User talk:Geraldo Perez/Archive 25#Joshua Bassett (actor) since the source being used is WP:NOTRS. But, again, I'm not sure if this GQ source being used to source the hospitalization passes WP:RS. The information itself I feel is of relevance to the article and not WP:UNDUE, it's just the source I'm unsure about. Amaury15:38, 13 November 2021 (UTC)

Category added to Andi Mack is supported by article content but it isn't mentioned in the lead so I wouldn't consider it defining and likely shouldn't even be a category - it was recently added as a category and the person who added it is populating it. It it not really an award for artistic merit - it is basically a minor award given for supporting a social issue that the academy likes. Should probably be discussed at WP:CFD, though instead of deleting from articles.
I would consider (and so does WP:RSN as far as I can tell) GQ a reliable source in its area of focus, and this article seems to cover that. It is an interview and Bassett is still being coy about what letter of the LGBTQ... collective he wants to claim he belongs to, just that he belongs somewhere. Info about his health, though, seems well supported. Geraldo Perez (talk) 16:38, 13 November 2021 (UTC)

About Berenstain Bears 2003

Hi Geraldo Perez,

Can I get rid of some of the treehouse airdates on season 3?

Thank You.

@Airdates53489: Leave them as they are unless you have a very strong justification for removing them. Geraldo Perez (talk) 17:47, 18 November 2021 (UTC)

About the Holly Hobbie (TV series) page

Hi Geraldo Perez, I hope you can see this, I'm just learning to write messages to users here so I don't know if this will turn out fine. I'm reaching you because of the Holly Hobbie information I added. Sorry for not adding a source that provided something reliable for the change I made, it's just that I don't know how. Either way, the reason I did it was because I wanted to restore the new things that were added to the Holly Hobbie page in regards to the renewal of the series, and the date of release of the third season. That information is real, as you can see here https://kidscreen.com/2021/10/05/holly-hobbie-switches-commissioning-broadcasters/ and in photos of the cast members filming while wearing masks that I've seen (they were posted by the director on his insta as far as I know). I really don't understand why it was removed since it's all true, there are even other wikipedia pages stating that Holly Hobbie was renewed for a third, fourth and fifth season. That means it did not end in 2019, and that's the reason I changed it to present. Since I don't know how to add sources that support my edits, maybe you could do that in the Holly Hobbie wikipedia page, using the link I gave you. I just find very odd that the info about the new seasons was removed less than 10 days away from the release of the third season. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 190.162.81.234 (talk) 02:33, 18 November 2021 (UTC)

@IJBall: I noticed you removed the reference stated above and the change in end date. I am loath to revert your edits but am curious about your reasons. Geraldo Perez (talk) 17:53, 18 November 2021 (UTC)
If you're talking about this edit, it should be obvious why reverted to that earlier version. In terms of just a season #3 of the show, I have no opinion or info on that, and if there is a bona fide WP:RS that verifies that it is actually happening, I have no objection to adding that to the article. --IJBall (contribstalk) 17:55, 18 November 2021 (UTC)
@IJBall: Thanks. I added back just the info about the show continuing. Season 4 and 5 are referenced with no airing info. Geraldo Perez (talk) 18:28, 18 November 2021 (UTC)

Zoey 101, reboot axed

I said this on the Zoey 101 talk page on this wiki but Paul Butcher has actually confirmed back in July 2021 that the reboot has been cancelled/axed on his tiktok. He also commented "bye bye reboot" on a tiktok comment. Here is one of the sources: https://entertainment.ie/tv/tv-news/zoey-101-reboot-cancelled-489567/

Do we think we should add this sometime soon? Due to Jamie Lynn's issues with the FreeBritney movement, it's obviously not gonna happen at all, at least for a long while. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MichaelFansz (talkcontribs) 13:54, 25 November 2021 (UTC)

@MichaelFansz: We generally don't put much credence on what employees say about their employers future business plans. Butcher doesn't officially speak for the production and he might have incomplete information. Need a reliable secondary source or an official statement to make any claims about the state of their plans. Geraldo Perez (talk) 16:25, 25 November 2021 (UTC)

Category:Sonny with a Chance and Template:Sonny with a Chance

Our disruptive category IP is back at it again under yet another IP (148.252.129.26), the one who adds generic and superfluous Disney categories when they're already under more specific Disney categories, such as here. Now, I'm pretty sure neither of these should even be a thing, which the IP didn't create, but thanks to their disruptiveness, I came across them. The season pages for this series shouldn't even be a thing, which removes two links from the category and template that even if those season pages were to be kept, it still wouldn't be enough. Ping IJBall as well. Amaury17:21, 22 November 2021 (UTC)

@IJBall and MPFitz1968: Here we go again. Category:Television series by Nickelodeon Productions and Category:Television series by Nickelodeon Animation Studio, and now the user is mass adding them to articles. Unlike previous cases, here's it's not that there aren't enough links, because anything with 12 or less makes a category or template useless. The question is are they necessary? They seem superfluous to me with the existing [year] Nickelodeon original programming categories. However, maybe they're akin to Category:Television series by It's a Laugh Productions, but if so, I would have assumed they would have already been created a long time ago, so maybe there's a reason they weren't. Or they were, but were deleted, which we can't see, of course. Add: The other thing is that the user in question just joined yesterday and has already gone straight to edits like this, which seems suspicious, because I know we've had issues with category vandals or disruptors in general. I don't know if it could maybe be related to User talk:IJBall#IP 108.35.217.152, but something seems fishy here. Add: It could also be the IP who has been abusing multiple IPs to add a redundant category at articles like Andi Mack and others. Amaury18:53, 24 November 2021 (UTC)

@Amaury: The "by" categories are supposed to be the production companies and the ones I checked met WP:CATVER as they were listed in the production companies attribute. Original programming categories are supposed to match the broadcaster if the programming is original to them so should match the network attribute for original release. Not really redundant with each other. They may be redundant to an existing subcategory but I didn't see that when checking. Geraldo Perez (talk) 19:43, 24 November 2021 (UTC)

I just saw the messages you reverted here, Geraldo, so I will again ping IJBall per the comment he made at User talk:IJBall#IP 108.35.217.152: Whining to admins to get you "indef blocked" definitely seems suspicious. --IJBall (contribstalk) 01:17, 8 November 2021 (UTC) IJBall and Geraldo, see User talk:Ohnoitsjamie‎#Block Geraldo Perez. Putting aside the categories thing I brought up here, which you think is fine, and focusing only on the user's behavior just now, something seems fishy, at least to me, for the fact that, to borrow IJBall's words, they are whining to an admin to get you blocked. Add: The fact that they only joined on November 23 and already know the venues to report or request certain things, such as ANEW or RFPP, also raises red flags to me. Amaury08:29, 29 November 2021 (UTC)

Blocked by Bbb23 as a probable sock. Editor admits to socking on their talk page. --IJBall (contribstalk) 16:04, 29 November 2021 (UTC)

@Amaury and IJBall: Most of the category edits including the recently blocked account are editing off a major UK cell phone data network, Vodafone. I've identified at least 4 major IP ranges used in the last month and there are likely more. Each time he connects he'll randomly get some IP in the 16 ranges Vodafone owns. Blocking IPs is like playing whack-a-mole, adds a bit of resistance but can't solve the long-term problem. Blocking all of the Vodafone ASN 25135 ranges is pretty much not going to happen unless we start treating all cell phone data networks like we do VPN providers we identify and block all of them - the problems are basically identical for the two. He also edited from a business account, likely his job location, which is not Vodafone. Geraldo Perez (talk) 19:05, 29 November 2021 (UTC)

Now tied to WP:SPI case Nabasile. --IJBall (contribstalk) 19:49, 29 November 2021 (UTC)
@IJBall: He'll likely only create an account when he wants to create categories or move articles. I expect for most editing he will just continue to use random Vodafone IPs as before. Still need to watch for that, but IPsocks should be blockable and edits undone as block evasion. Geraldo Perez (talk) 19:58, 29 November 2021 (UTC)
If any of those cats, or cat additions, are valid, some editor-in-good-standing should just do them, and beat this socker to the punch – that seems like a lot less work than a bunch of WP:BANREVERTs... --IJBall (contribstalk) 22:00, 29 November 2021 (UTC)

Listen Gerlado Perez these IPs are not IPsocks there just separate user IPs, you gotta have to close this case. If you do I let you have a brilliant deal. 185.69.144.19 (talk) 18:18, 1 December 2021 (UTC)

Editing logged out while being indefinitely blocked as Nabasile is block evasion. Log into your account and request your block be lifted, otherwise your edits can be undone per WP:BANREVERT. Geraldo Perez (talk) 18:24, 1 December 2021 (UTC)

I told you to stop I am not a sockpuppet and Nabasile may use this IP but it's not a sockpuppet so you're gonna have to stop this. 85.255.236.138 (talk) 20:21, 3 December 2021 (UTC)

WP:BANREVERT means you can't edit logged out either. The edit ban is on you as a person, not on the accounts you happen to use. Geraldo Perez (talk) 20:26, 3 December 2021 (UTC)

Then stop doing it I can edit logged out. 85.255.236.138 (talk) 20:27, 3 December 2021 (UTC)

That is still WP:Sockpuppetry even if editing logged out. Geraldo Perez (talk) 20:35, 3 December 2021 (UTC)

No I AM NOT NOW STOP IF YOU DARE AND DON'T TELL ME AGAIN YOU KNOS WHY BECAUSE THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!!! 85.255.236.138 (talk) 20:39, 3 December 2021 (UTC)

Suggest you take the messages as User talk:Nabasile under consideration and stop editing for 6 months as suggested. Each time you evade that block it makes your case to be unblocked much harder. Geraldo Perez (talk) 20:42, 3 December 2021 (UTC)

8.48.3.142

Recent pattern of disruption from this IP editor. Not sure if previous edits were from this IP or this range. Will likely require a mass revert. And as they've been at this a while, a more substantive response may be required. --IJBall (contribstalk) 18:48, 4 December 2021 (UTC)

OK, previously at 2604:2D80:EE02:5300:0:0:0:0/64 and already blocked. So an AIV report will probably do the trick here – I'll let you do the honors as you are an expert at filing AIV reports in cases like this. --IJBall (contribstalk) 18:55, 4 December 2021 (UTC)
@IJBall: AIV reported. Same edits, geo locates same city. I cleaned as much as I could find. Geraldo Perez (talk) 19:10, 4 December 2021 (UTC)
@IJBall: 1 week block. This is a pretty distinctive edit pattern with the header changes - let me know if you see this editor pop up on another IP. Geraldo Perez (talk) 23:38, 4 December 2021 (UTC)

Must be the season

Season for socks, that is. We've been dealing with Nabasile and now Orchomen has shown up again. Unfortunately, it seems more difficult to deal with Nabasile, from what I've seen and what you've said. Amaury21:51, 6 December 2021 (UTC)

Nabasile has been at this a while and seems to enjoy being annoying. I wish we could treat cell data networks like VPNs for the same reasons as IP socks love the random IPs they get each time they connect. Geraldo Perez (talk) 22:06, 6 December 2021 (UTC)
I don't know how long Nasabile has been at it, but we've been at it with Orchomen since at least Septemnber 2016! It's been a while since they've targeted our articles, but they've still been at it overall. You'd think both them and Nasabile would have something better to do with their lives after all these years, but I guess not. Amaury22:15, 6 December 2021 (UTC)

Fairly sure this is Nabasile. Amaury20:09, 14 December 2021 (UTC)

And, if I had to guess, you've seen this WP:DE IP editor before. --IJBall (contribstalk) 02:07, 19 December 2021 (UTC)

@IJBall: 3 month block. Geraldo Perez (talk) 02:33, 19 December 2021 (UTC)

36.81.12.0/22

This IP range is of concern, adding other (foreign) networks to the "network" parameter in the infobox for television programs or award shows broadcast on television, against the instructions for this parameter, which calls for the original network(s) only. Case in point: Boy Meets World, making three edits of this kind in the last 24–36 hours, all of which I reverted (that article is currently semi-protected as a result), but I'm seeing their contributions include other articles with the same kind of edit, including American Music Awards of 2021, which is on my watchlist and I reverted as well. The range geolocates to Indonesia, and I'm seeing other ranges ... not beginning with 36, but also geolocating to the same part of the world ... involved after glancing thru some of these articles they've affected. It's also possible the range I cited may be only a subset of a larger address range beginning with the same two numbers. Pinging Amaury and IJBall about this as well. MPFitz1968 (talk) 03:43, 16 December 2021 (UTC)

@MPFitz1968: I fixed the range in the header to the proper base IP. I've seen lots of issues with edits from that geo location. Can pop up in a lot of ranges. Geraldo Perez (talk) 05:36, 16 December 2021 (UTC)
I have filed an ANI report on this range, as their editing ... as I described above ... is continuing. MPFitz1968 (talk) 16:45, 16 December 2021 (UTC)
Noticed that 36.81.8.0/21 got blocked for 3 days. Extended the range a bit for the block. Geraldo Perez (talk) 18:54, 16 December 2021 (UTC)
And reblocked for 6 months after continuing from original block. Geraldo Perez (talk) 07:40, 20 December 2021 (UTC)

And now they're at it again, at address 114.10.23.3 (and likely some range that includes that), which like the blocked IP range, geolocates to Indonesia, and is adding foreign networks (which are not the original broadcasting network) to the infobox of a TV or awards article, like American Music Awards of 2021 ([1]). MPFitz1968 (talk) 00:07, 23 December 2021 (UTC)

@MPFitz1968: Range looks to be 114.10.16.0/21 already partially blocked for some other crap. Only 2 IPs used today, I reported to AIV the last one used but likely pointless on a dynamic IP. Geraldo Perez (talk) 00:34, 23 December 2021 (UTC)
Now 114.10.4.132, which also has a partial block that applies to the range 114.10.0.0/20. Problem is it doesn't include the range you mentioned above; both ranges combined would map to 114.10.0.0/19. Might file another ANI about this, but as is the case with any range blocking, the concern is collateral damage. MPFitz1968 (talk) 16:05, 23 December 2021 (UTC)
Went ahead and filed another ANI report. MPFitz1968 (talk) 16:44, 23 December 2021 (UTC)

Holly Hobbie (TV series) again

Definitely need backup here again – it looks like the previous disruptive IP adding fraudulent content is now operating a named account. Needs to be reverted, and taken through the Level 4 warning, and then reported. But I don't intend to get backdoored into a 3RR situation here... Thanks. --IJBall (contribstalk) 18:52, 24 December 2021 (UTC)

See also Special:Contributions/Hjonbenjamin178 – may be a sock farm? (I have concerns that these may be related to another editor I've had issues with, Xeditboy, though I would say I don't think the evidence is there yet...) But an WP:SPI report may be in order here. --IJBall (contribstalk) 00:30, 25 December 2021 (UTC)
@IJBall: Hjonbenjamin178 seems earliest, dubious about Xeditboy. Geraldo Perez (talk) 00:34, 25 December 2021 (UTC)

Disruptive IP vandalism on TV articles

Saw this revert of yours recently. FYI, this is part of a whole bunch of similar disruptive date vandalism, as I previously mentioned at User talk:EvergreenFir#The Casagrandes. Bunch of different IPs person has been at including 60.48.79.27, 115.135.31.117, 115.133.212.68, 115.133.215.110, 60.48.168.16, 115.135.27.137, and probably plenty of others I can't find. All these IPs geolocate to Malaysia. Best options are probably just to continue reverting them, or request page protection(s) if it's really necessary. Highly doubt any range blocks would be possible seeing how they keep changing. Magitroopa (talk) 18:40, 28 December 2021 (UTC)

@Magitroopa: This is the set of ranges that ISP uses. Looks like he can pop up on any of them based on how the ISP assigns IPs. Sometimes a block on one of the ranges will slow a vandal down a bit, but it is hard to get them all. Geraldo Perez (talk) 19:04, 28 December 2021 (UTC)

Another IP

This appears to be Nabasile, but not 100% sure. Amaury12:18, 30 December 2021 (UTC)

@Amaury: Fairly obviously is Nabasile. Geraldo Perez (talk) 16:49, 30 December 2021 (UTC)

Claimed as "own work", but looks like a WP:COPYVIO to me. Probably needs to be tagged on Commons. --IJBall (contribstalk) 00:31, 31 December 2021 (UTC)

@IJBall: Tagged it as a copyvio on Commons. Source was Getty Images. Geraldo Perez (talk) 00:44, 31 December 2021 (UTC)
