2023 Arkansas State Red Wolves baseball team moved to draftspace
editThanks for your contributions to 2023 Arkansas State Red Wolves baseball team. Unfortunately, it is not ready for publishing because it has no sources, it needs more sources to establish notability and It's admittedly under construction and the only data is in fact the 2022 data which is potentially confusing. (refs are also from the 2022 season). Your article is now a draft where you can improve it undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Pichpich (talk) 21:33, 3 April 2023 (UTC)
- PS: when the article is ready and you want to circumvent the long queue of drafts needing a review, just contact me directly at my talk page. I'll gladly take a look and move it back to the article space. Pichpich (talk) 21:37, 3 April 2023 (UTC)
1930 Arkansas State Indians football team
editHhs7, thanks for interest in the 1930 Arkansas State Indians football team article. Not sure where you're getting the "Warriors" fight name from, but I don't see any evidence that that was used used for Arkansas State. Also, there are some technical issues with your editing here. I see you took the content from 1930 First District A&M Indians football team, originally created by User:Patriarca12 on October 16, 2022, and refactored it a new article titled 1930 First District A&M Warriors football team. That's not how you want to go about renaming an article. Articles should instead be moved: see Wikipedia:Moving a page. Thanks, Jweiss11 (talk) 19:57, 14 May 2023 (UTC)
- This is where I am getting “Warriors” from: http://asunews.astate.edu/MascotRetirement.htm Hhs7 (talk) 04:35, 15 May 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks for that reference. All of the contemporary sources, newspapers articles and the 1931 Arkansas State yearbook, cited at 1930 Arkansas State Indians football team, indicate the the team's fight name was "Indians". Jweiss11 (talk) 14:36, 16 May 2023 (UTC)
- That was probably the reason why the university officially adopted that nickname. Hhs7 (talk) 00:53, 17 August 2023 (UTC)

Merge notice
editHi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give 1930 First District A&M Indians football team a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into 1930 Arkansas State Indians football team. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Jweiss11 (talk) 14:28, 16 May 2023 (UTC)
- We’re you wanting me to move the page or were you just telling me how to? Hhs7 (talk) 17:27, 16 May 2023 (UTC)
- Just filling in you in here. As this point we need a administrator to merge the histories of the two pages. But in the future, if you want change the name of an article, a page move, rather than a copy/paste, is the way to go. Jweiss11 (talk) 04:34, 17 May 2023 (UTC)
