editHello, Ostealthy. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2018 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 19 November 2018 (UTC)
Take part in a survey
editHi Ostealthy
We're working to measure the value of Wikipedia in economic terms. We want to ask you some questions about how you value being able to edit Wikipedia.
Our survey should take about 10-15 minutes of your time. We hope that you will enjoy it and find the questions interesting. All answers will be kept strictly confidential and will be anonymized before the aggregate results are published. Regretfully, we can only accept responses from people who live in the US due to restrictions in our grant-based funding.
As a reward for your participation, we will randomly pick 1 out of every 5 participants and give them $25 worth of goods of their choice from the Wikipedia store (e.g. Wikipedia themed t-shirts). Note that we can only reward you if you are based in the US.
Click here to access the survey: https://mit.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_eXJcEhLKioNHuJv

CFB template
editWhy not? Many template can not even be displayed, and many of them looks not good at all. 七战功成 20:59,2 February, 2019 (UTC)
- 七战功成: The bot recently did over 12,000 conversions from the old template to the new one. Your undoing of a couple dozen is not helping anything. Some of the pages you changed were not broken, and now users are greeted with a big warning telling them the template is deprecated. If you find schedules that are broken, you should leave a message with the bot owner and/or try to fix the buggy schedule. Not rollback to a deprecated template. El Assico
editPlease refrain from using your role as a frequent contributor to Wikipedia to create pages that denigrate other college football teams. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Carizona (talk • contribs) 05:04, 5 June 2019 (UTC)
Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. 2018 Clemson Tigers Football Team
editHi Ostealthy! I've noticed you've been doing a ton of awesome work on the 2018 Clemson Tigers football team page. I was just wondering if you knew anything about good article nominations. I feel like the article is pretty extensive and might qualify for that. However, I was wondering if it needs some pictures to make it. What are your thoughts? Swimmer33 (talk) 19:55, 7 June 2019 (UTC)
- @Swimmer33: I don't know much about the good article nomination process. I nominated the 2018 Clemson page for consideration back in March, but it hasn't been evaluated yet, and this is my first time nominating an article. Looking at the criteria, it does look like the lack of pictures and media would be its major strike against it. Ostealthy (talk) 20:02, 7 June 2019 (UTC)
JWB special characters conversion
editHi, I'm not sure how JWB works but I've noticed twice now, on the NCAA rankings pages, your conversion to fraction templates is leaving the semicolon from the HTML special characters. Ostealthy (talk) 01:37, 14 July 2019 (UTC)
- Well spotted! That was actually just a typo in my part in some code I've written, sorry about that. I noticed it earlier but forgot to update my running copy of JWB. I just did that and it seems to be working properly now. Thanks for the note, and thanks for fixing those typos! -- Beland (talk) 02:52, 14 July 2019 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for September 11
editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Joe Burrow, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page 2019 Fiesta Bowl (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

editGoogle Code-In 2019 is coming - please mentor some documentation tasks!
editHello,
Google Code-In, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks. This contest is about taking high school students into the world of opensource. I'm sending you this message because you recently edited a documentation page at the English Wikipedia.
I would like to ask you to take part in Google Code-In as a mentor. That would mean to prepare at least one task (it can be documentation related, or something else - the other categories are Code, Design, Quality Assurance and Outreach) for the participants, and help the student to complete it. Please sign up at the contest page and send us your Google account address to google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org, so we can invite you in!
From my own experience, Google Code-In can be fun, you can make several new friends, attract new people to your wiki and make them part of your community.
If you have any questions, please let us know at google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org.
Thank you!
That IP you reverted is an a-hole who's been vandalizing for years. I just blocked it for a good long while, but now we have to figure out what damage was done. Thanks. Drmies (talk) 03:20, 22 January 2020 (UTC)
- Maybe you can plow through Clemson Tigers football to see what happened? I cannot edit that article, for reasons that I think are obvious. Thanks! Drmies (talk) 03:22, 22 January 2020 (UTC)
- UW Dawgs, I'll ping you while I'm at it--you know football too. Thanks. Drmies (talk) 03:24, 22 January 2020 (UTC)
- @Drmies: I fixed the changes to Clemson Tigers football. If you were suggesting that you couldn't edit that page because you're an Alabama fan, don't be silly, that shouldn't stop you from fixing things. Ostealthy (talk) 14:55, 22 January 2020 (UTC)
- Haha thanks. I like to think that I fixed a few of the things. Drmies (talk) 15:51, 22 January 2020 (UTC)

Joe Burrow full name placement
editFrom what I see, only one editor objects to it. Looking the page’s edit history, I see you feel the same way I do but are enforcing what a single other editor said. I respect that other editor as they are very experienced, however the policy he provided WP:CITELEAD doesn’t give a clear rule for what to do and even specifically says to reach a consensus. If you still feel this way, then this is something we can discuss with that other editor.--Rockchalk717 18:56, 23 April 2020 (UTC)

Source for MSA area?
editYou added data for the MSA and rank in this edit. What's the source? If you have one, why aren't you adding it, as required by WP:V? Alansohn (talk) 18:16, 2 January 2023 (UTC)
- @Alansohn the source is the United States Census Bureau. I have now added references to the Trenton page. Most articles on cities, counties, metro areas, etc. tend to be lax in adding references to the Census Bureau, as those references are captured in the full list pages that accompany the figures. Ostealthy (talk) 18:27, 2 January 2023 (UTC)
- Add the sources. You have them available. Even if other people aren't why wouldn't you? Be the leader. Set the example. Alansohn (talk) 00:49, 3 January 2023 (UTC)
