Hello, I don't want to edit anything today. I just want to learn the difference between professional human eye health provider titles, such a DO, MD, etc. --Rboothman (talk) 19:56, 23 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello and welcome! I can help you navigate or edit Wikipedia, but for general knowledge questions, you'll have better luck at the reference desk. That said, for this question specifically, you may find the American Academy of Ophthalmology's webpage on this matter useful: Churchill, Jennifer; Gudgel, Dan T. (February 24, 2024). how to change username --Atif Khan writer (talk) 11:53, 28 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi, and thanks for waiting! Since your account is so new, the easier method is just to abandon this account and create a new one with the username you want. Just to be on the safe side, you want to write a note on both userpages that you've abandoned your old account and are using the new one for username reasons. The other method is to request a username change for the existing account; if you have questions on the instructions, please feel free to ask. Thanks again, and enjoy your weekend! Near inherent notability for school districts

edit

Hi! Just to clarify, school districts are government authorities that tax and have elected boards and, as per Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Common_outcomes#School_districts, have near presumptive notability, just like any municipality no matter how small.

I will however look to find other sources for that district.

Question from Gējì

edit

Hello, are you an administrator?Sorry to bother you, I saw that you followed this entry, so I wanted to ask if you are an administrator. If you read all my posts, you may understand what I mean. You can also check out the latest questions about "sex" in the discussion area.Geji's sexual issues have always been part of my editing plan. I have never tried to whitewash or embellish anything. For entries like this, you can refer to the entries of geisha, tawaif, and qiyan. What I say is also supported by content, including English references.I don't know when it will end, and the other party seems to say that even if I revise it, the other party can come over and delete it again.I'm really sorry, I don't mean anything else, I just feel that the discussion area is still … and has made me physically uncomfortable. Geji are also people, they are also women, the current discussion has gone off track, I feel that it has constituted some kind of discrimination and prejudice, geisha, tawaif, qiyan have not been treated like this, but the treatment of Chinese geji is really still continuing to humiliate. 清风与明月 (talk) 13:48, 16 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

。Sorry, I need to state it again here. First of all, no one denies that there are geji engaged in prostitution, and no one denies that geji have sexual relations. Secondly, in the original entry of "Yiji" on English Wikipedia, no one even equates the prostitution of some geji with the entire profession. This is also cited in a book reference. It says that though yiji could in individual cases choose to sell sexual favors to a client, this was not a part of her profession as a yiji, but a parallel favor outside of their profession as a yiji and regarded as separated from it.Although these contents have been deleted now, I would like to say that this description has nothing to do with me because I was not here at that time.https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=G%C4%93j%C3%AC&oldid=1148676996 清风与明月 (talk) 08:11, 18 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
。Geji (Chinese: 歌妓、歌伎、歌姬) is a type of courtesan entertainer in ancient China, they were singers and dancers in society.Gejis are professionally trained in music, singing, dancing and cultural classes,,they are also trained in etiquette and tea culture.Although the social status of gejis was not high and they belonged to the lower class as performers, but they were hired to perform at banquets, official celebrations, court gatherings and even religious activities because of their outstanding skills.Geji originated from the court culture of the Xia Dynasty, and then spread to the people. The geji system gradually disappeared during the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China, they were officially replaced by prostitutes.Gejis made great contributions to ancient Chinese music, dance, poetry, painting and drama. Some gejis were poets themselves, tang poetry and song dynasty lyric poetry was also sung by geji. Gejis would perform the poems as songs, which played a role in the dissemination of the ancient Chinese poems and lyrics. As the main actor of zaju, gejis directly participated in the stage performance of zaju and also participated in the creation of poetry and sanqu. Gejis' exquisite singing, dancing and storytelling skills had a great influence on the dance and singing of zaju in the Yuan Dynasty.
In ancient China, "ji(妓)" was a polysemous word, with two meanings: a female song and dance actor and a prostitute.Geji is a female performer. In ancient China, "Jī(姬)" could also refer to noble women, calling a geji "Gējī(歌姬)" was a more respectful title. On June 15, 2008, China's official media Shangqiu Daily published an article stating that "it is a misunderstanding to regard geji as prostitutes. Some geji are even excellent artists".China CCTV published an article saying: "Although gejis had a low status, they were part of China's ancient dance history. Gejis also were dancers, and their contributions to the construction of China's dance culture should not be forgotten". 清风与明月 (talk) 08:12, 18 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
清风与明月 (talk) 08:13, 18 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
。As a female performer performing in public, gejis must remain unmarried, when they marry it usually means retiring from the profession. Gejis have an unconventional approach to relationships, while they are not allowed to marry during their careers, but they can form relationships with their patrons that are similar to cohabitation, like a mistress. The women in the "Yang Gang(扬帮)" and "Pearl River Cruise(珠江游船)", they are sometimes considered gejis and sometimes directly considered as prostitutes. These women may have the dual identities of gejis and prostitutes.Although in individual cases, some geji may provide prostitution, this was not a part of her profession as a geji and regarded as separated from it. 清风与明月 (talk) 08:16, 18 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

。This is what I want to express. I don’t want to deny anything. If you can understand it, forget it if you don’t.I have reference materials for all these, including English references, and I will send them over later. In addition, no one has a fake account. Because the Chinese Internet is blocked, only those in Hong Kong and Taiwan can come here. At the same time, many Chinese browse the English Wikipedia, but have never registered an account. 清风与明月 (talk) 08:20, 18 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
。Now many Chinese who browse this forum feel very uncomfortable, and think that the English Wikipedia is even discriminating and allowing people to insult Chinese people like this. They just regret that they don’t have a Wikipedia account, otherwise they would come here to speak out. The Chinese who come here now also come here to speak for Chinese culture because they feel uncomfortable browsing this forum. No Chinese want to whitewash anything. If the English Wikipedia had not insisted on creating this entry, the Chi 清风与明月 (talk) 08:20, 18 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

。Sorry, the message cannot be sent. I can only post it like this. Sorry. No one has ever denied anything. If you don't understand what I said above, just forget it. If you are an administrator, I hope you can help solve this problem. Thank you. 清风与明月 (talk) 08:22, 18 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Geji&oldid=1246333341 I know this version may be deleted at any time, but please read it here and read the references. I think the content of this version is fair and objective, and no one is whitewashing anything. On the contrary, it is biased and not objective to describe the profession of geji as prostitution, or to describe it as providing sex transactions to clients at will.
[Courtesy (loose!) translation into English: I would greatly prefer to not discuss this matter any further. Talk:Geji already has enough people chiming in; the more participants, the more chaotic the situation. Plus, you and the other party are completely talking past each other. Writing another Tolstoy novel's worth of explanation is not going to solve the problem. Sorry.] Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 10:46, 18 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, I didn't mean to bother you, I just said that I didn't want to whitewash anything. Look at this latest version, there are authoritative references everywhere, I didn't say there was no geji prostitution. But the other party insisted that the profession of geji is a prostitution profession. Now he still deletes these contents with a lot of references, saying that these are all whitewashing, and the references are not authoritative. So I don't want to say who is destroying the entry. I'm sorry to bother you, goodbye.https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Geji&oldid=1246351378 清风与明月 (talk) 15:43, 18 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

I want to say thanks, but to also provide a clarification. In this instance, I do not think they are referring to me. I haven't reversed any of their edits since the 3PO Started. Other people have been reverting their edits, so in this instance when they're saying "he still deletes these contents", I'm not sure they're referring to me. Question from JohnGaming (05:47, 2 October 2024)

Hi boss, what type of edits you suggest me to do first? Like some minor edits for example adding links, references, sentence correction or I can also work on adding more paragraphs into an existing article? --JohnGaming (talk) 05:47, 2 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Not your boss, I say lightheartedly. You definitely can make minor edits. As for content, I would suggest skimming our list of sources that people have most commonly discussed at the reliable sources noticeboard: not to memorize, just to get an idea of what to cite when adding content. Finally, as a new editor, if someone asks you to stop doing something, listen no matter how right you think you are. Usually, such a request comes with the relevant policy or guideline that you can read up on. You can ask questions at the Teahouse. Happy editing! Question from Degenhardt.jd (19:09, 6 October 2024)

edit

Hello! I've been working on creating new articles and most things are going well so far. The one spot I keep getting stuck with though is how to create drafts that I can save. I see there are a couple different ways to do this. The first seems to be the draft space. and the second is by making drafts in my userpage. I was able to find a page that has a linked template for creating new articles in draftspace, but can not figure out a way to easily make ones in my userpage. I also can figure out a way to find my drafts other than be going back through my edit log.

Is there some easy way to make new drafts and then find them on my userpage?

Thanks! --Degenhardt.jd (talk) 19:09, 6 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

If I understand your question correctly, one of the simpler ways is probably to go to Wikipedia:Sandbox organiser, click the button that says Click here to create your own Sandbox Organiser, then scroll down and click Publish page. You should now have your own sandbox organizer, a centralized place with instructions on how to create drafts and handy links to see a list of your own userpage drafts. There are some other ways, but this should be a good place to start while you grow more familiar with Wikipedia's interface. Happy editing!
