Wow. That must have been a lot of work. I've been meaning to do it for a long time, but was way too lazy. Thanks! TheMightyQuill (talk) 18:30, 25 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Rado, what's in a name

edit

Don't you think, Rado's name hin oder her it would be more important to rephrase the spynovel stuff in this article. It just doesn't make sense to the normal reader. I want to know about his spying, but not in this style. Also, do you know if there is any version of his uncensored book in english or french?--Radh (talk) 13:54, 17 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Meyer-Landrut

edit

Hi,
could you maybe post a quote from the source you mentioned in the Lena Meyer-Landrut article?
Thanks, Amalthea 22:30, 30 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi,
I found this source in her grandfather's article. In other sources you can find informations about her Hungarian grandmother. Just read this: [1] "Seine Ehefrau, Lenas Oma also, ist Ungarin." In the margin, she looks like my cousin, maybe she inherited her dark hair and brown eyes from her Hungarian grandmother:).--Rovibroni (talk) 23:15, 30 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
Ah, alright. I was confused since you sourced it to a 2003 Who's Who publication, and I couldn't believe that Lena was listed there and feared a mix-up.
I don't think she should be categorized as "nobility" though. With the grandmother being Hungarian "Hungarian descent" should be OK, but that seems to be discussed there now.
Thanks for the clarification, Amalthea 09:38, 31 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Your brackground sounds interesting! I also find it interesting that Lena Meyer-Landrut has Hungarian ancestors. However, sometimes our interests have to be ignored to create a good encyclopedia article. :). Well, let's say what the other editors say. Janfrie1988 (talk) 01:08, 31 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Demograhics of Hungary

edit

Hello. There are some data I've found in Britannica about historical population: [2] [3]

Can you please take a look and insert them if they are good? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.117.200.36 (talk) 08:05, 13 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hy. I checked your data, i think these statements which i read in "Percentages" section of "Demographics of Hungary" article are true. Before the Ottoman Turkish occupation about 75-80% of the total population of Hungary (Kingdom of) was Hungarian-speaking. Vojvodina, Transsylvania had absolute Hungarian majority at that times. See Demographics of Hungary talk page.--Rovibroni (talk) 13:12, 14 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Demographics of Vojvodina

edit

Regarding this addition that you made to Demographic history of Vojvodina article, does your source also provide data for ethnic changes between 896 and 1495? That data should be also included. don't you agree? PANONIAN 09:36, 4 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi. When you recently edited Hungária körgyűrű, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Mall and Duna (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Keleti pu

edit

Hi, I reverted your move on Budapest Keleti railway station - "railway terminal" is not a commonly used name in English, especially not with capital letters, and as far as I can tell the hyphen is not used[4]. This article has also been through a requested move in the past so any future moves to new titles should be suggested in this way. - filelakeshoe 12:31, 12 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to List of the most common surnames in Europe may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry, just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

Pozsony

edit

I think we can use the "former capitals of Hungary" category at the redirected page of Pozsony. It does not affect article of Bratislava. Fakirbakir (talk) 08:50, 21 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your answer. I have to disagree. "not recommended" does not mean that there will be no exceptions. See Wikipedia:Categorizing redirects. " There are some situations where placing a redirect in an article category is acceptable and can be helpful to users browsing through categories." Also, "It is sometimes helpful for redirects from common alternative names to appear in the index list. Editors should consider whether alternative names should be mixed in with other names, or not." I think categorizing Pressburg/Pozsony will hurt nobody. Fakirbakir (talk) 18:44, 21 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Mind if I ask you what did you think when you made this edit? If you have any new information that explicitly proves zero internal contact and fusion of Ancient Hungarian people with Turkic peoples (stating that Hungarian tribes were not mostly made of Turkic tribes) I am not aware of then I will be glad to hear it. Until then do not remove essential categories you yourself see as unimportant or hardly related when they were not added there out of a whim of the moment without previous consideration. Sincerely, ItsAlwaysLupus (talk) 19:29, 31 August 2014 (UTC)Reply
