Fails WP:NPOLITICIAN John from Idegon (talk) 08:02, 19 December 2015 (UTC)
- Keep - He's not really a politician, he's a notable school district superintendent who has been personally recognized by the President of the United States and is consistently on Baltimore news sources. The StormCatcher (talk) (contribs) 08:22, 19 December 2015 (UTC)
- Comment Primary sources like the school district biography do not establish notability. Being "recognized" by the president is not sufficient. The article needs strong secondary sources, preferably including significant coverage in publications outside Baltimore. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 18:42, 19 December 2015 (UTC)
- Keep. I think he satisfies WP:NPOL criterion #2 as a local politician who has received significant coverage. If you check Google News, there's plenty of hits in The Baltimore Sun, and that's not a minor newspaper. He was also interviewed in a documentary film and named to an advisory position by Obama. This guy looks pretty notable to me. Non-notable local politicians don't get honored by the President of the US. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 08:19, 20 December 2015 (UTC)

- Comment - I don't see coverage beyond the routine. The only article I'm finding that is about him (as opposed to tangental mention in articles about the district or interviews, which do not generally speak to notability) is the article on his appointment, and that was quite short. There is 0 significant coverage from outside Baltimore. It's worth noting that per List of the largest school districts in the United States by enrollment, Baltimore is the 26th largest school district. Of the top 10 districts, only half of those district's leaders have bios on Wikipedia, and one of those was an automatic notability situation, due to Puerto Rico's situation of being one school district and its leader is a cabinet level position. Superintendent of Schools is an important position, but importance does not equate with notability. John from Idegon (talk) 05:29, 22 December 2015 (UTC)

- Delete - while I understand NinjaRobotPirate's rationale, I see it from the opposite view. John from Idegon's analysis in his comment pretty much sums it up. Fails WP:GNG and WP:NPOL. Onel5969 TT me 15:18, 2 January 2016 (UTC)

- Delete. I don't see anything he's done that's special. Sure, the Sun is a major newspaper, but this is still effectively just local coverage. -- RoySmith (talk) 00:27, 11 January 2016 (UTC)
- Keep - There's plenty of significant coverage that addresses the topic directly and in detail, going back as far as 2005 when he was appointed principal at age 24 to the appointment by President Obama:
