յ lowercase (uppercase Յ)

The 21st letter of Armenian alphabet, called հի (hi). Transliterated as y.
Represents:
palatal approximant: [j] in Eastern Armenian and Western Armenian (but [h] word-initially and silent word-finally in Traditional Armenian orthography)

յ • (y)

A letter of the Armeno-Turkish script, named հի (hi). Represents palatal approximant: [j]. Transliterated as j.

This letter only appears after a vowel. Elsewhere, ե (y) is used.
