In mainland China, 蒞／莅 (lì) and 涖 (lì) are considered as variant forms of 莅 which is used as the orthodox form.
In Taiwan, 蒞／莅 (lì) is considered as the orthodox form while 涖 (lì) is a variant form of 蒞／莅 (lì). This character, 莅 is a rarely encountered character (生僻字 (shēngpìzì)) in modern Taiwan.
