I think an entry of some sort should be made for Duolingo's main virutal currency. TheDaJakester (talk) 17:12, 6 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Is it frequently referred to outside of Duolingo? I'd doubt it. Web sites and video games etc. come and go and their invented things are soon forgotten. Equinox 17:13, 6 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
Firstly, I'd like to apologize for adding it against your opinion. I hadn't expected a response, and apparently wasn't notified of one, so I assumed I might as well do my part in adding it.
Second, you may have a point. While they are frequently referred to outside of the Duolingo platform itself, they are almost always mentioned in the context of it and among groups of Duolingo users. Such groups would admittedly already be familar with the term and likely not need it defined.
On these grounds, should I revert my own edit?

I started a discussion about it on RFD. — surjection?17:29, 6 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Rfd-sense "The virtual currency of Duolingo, an online language-learning platform". Do we really need this? — surjection?17:18, 6 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

@Surjection: This seems like a matter for RFV, no? —Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 17:21, 6 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
No, I did check and it would pass RFV if passed through there, and I believe this is an RFD matter anyway. — surjection?17:24, 6 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
I would prefer to delete this along the lines of WT:FICTION, like made-up currencies from specific video games (but unlike, say, zorkmid, which occurs in many different games). But I can see how it doesn't strictly apply here. It also feels a bit brand-like. A lot of sites have or had their own currencies; many of the sites and currencies are defunct (remember Banana Bux?) Keep since it is already a word in many other cases, it's interesting to have it and I feel like it will stick aroundNdołkah (talk)
