• Entry layout (EL) is a detailed policy on Wiktionary's page formatting; all entries must conform to it. The easiest way to start off is to copy the contents of an existing same-language entry, and then adapt it to fit the entry you are creating.

• Our Criteria for Inclusion (CFI) defines exactly which words can be added to Wiktionary; the most important part is that Wiktionary only accepts words that have been in somewhat widespread use over the course of at least a year, and citations that demonstrate usage can be asked for when there is doubt.

Speedy deletion

When nominating a page for speedy deletion, please A) don't remove content from the page, B) include a rationale for deletion in the template, such as {{d|misspelling of x}}, and C) click on the "What links here tool" on the left side of the page and fix any links to that page Ultimateria (talk) 18:35, 2 October 2024 (UTC)

Also, regarding your comment at pach'a, "There is no such thing as "pach'a" in any Quechua dialect": questions of whether a term exists need to be resolved at WT:RFV. I'll open the discussion. Is p'ampachay another case like this? BTW, simple misspellings are still fine for speedy deletion. Ultimateria (talk) 18:40, 2 October 2024 (UTC)

So, is it that I just add {{d}} on top of all the information? As for (b) and (c) I'll add do that next time.

Now, pach'a is clearly a misspellings because Quechua words can only have ejectives on their first stop consonant, i.e. /p/ in this case. So by simple phonotactics there can't be */pach'a/ and rightfully so no dictionary registers it. So I'd categorise that as simple misspelling and should be speedily deleted.

As for p'ampachay, this term could exist in theory but I haven't seen it being used in any dictionary. So I think this could qualify for RFV, I'll make a post about it. SantiChau23 (talk) 20:30, 2 October 2024 (UTC)

Thank you for explaining. In that case I will delete pach'a. Can you correct the two links to it from belly and wiksa? The "belly" sense isn't at pacha so I don't know what word that sense corresponds to. Ultimateria (talk) 02:19, 5 October 2024 (UTC)

Yeah, it's a complicated situation, but it'll be solved in the future. Basically pacha means "belly" in a very different Quechua dialect, at this point we're talking different languages. We're in the middle of talks of splitting Quechua into the different languages that the term covers. SantiChau23 (talk) 21:38, 5 October 2024 (UTC)
