Overview[edit]
The early part of the 2020's was dominated by the effects of the COVID-19 virus, one of which was the stay-at-home orders which forced virtually all in-person conventions to close, some of them permanently. COVID-19 is also attributed to the rise of on-line furry conventions, which helped to fill the void left by the closures. Attitudes towards the fandom tipped towards the negative with wild accusations perpetuated by politicians and parental rights advocates.
