Haugaland

Haugaland is a traditional district in southwestern Norway, consisting of town of Haugesund and the areas around it where Haugesund is considered the cultural and trading hub. Geographically it is limited by the Hardangerfjord to the north, Boknafjord to the south and the district of Hardanger inland.

The region spans the counties of Hordaland and Rogaland, including the municipalities of Haugesund, Karmøy, Utsira, Tysvær, Bokn, Sveio, Vindafjord, Etne and Sauda. As of 2006, there are 96,423 inhabitants.
