Vaughan Secondary School (V.S.S) serves the community of Vaughan, Ontario, Canada. The York Region District School Board, governs the Vaughan Secondary School. Robert 'Bob' Hart was Vaughan Secondary School's principal, but he retired in June 2012.

Architecturally, Vaughan Secondary School has a modern exterior and internal design. The school consists of three floors of classrooms and portables. Situated on the first floor are the main lobby, principal stage, and cafeteria. The second floor houses the library and the radio station.

With district reorganization in 2006, a number of regions previously associated with Vaughan Secondary were reassigned to Stephen Lewis Secondary School (Block 10). Students entering Grade 9 and 10 in 2006 residing in Block 10 were transferred from Vaughan Secondary School to Stephen Lewis Secondary School. This reorganization drastically reduced Vaughan Secondary School's census from ~2000 students to ~1,100 students.[4]

Since 2009 to accommodate increasing numbers of students enrolled in French Immersion programs in York Region the Vaughan Secondary School offers a French Immersion program. Vaughan Secondary School is one of six schools in the York District which offer a French Immersion curriculum. At Vaughan Secondary School students can continue in the French Immersion program after graduating from a French Immersion program at their Elementary School. V.S.S. accepts graduating students pursuing a French diploma from Julliard PS and Louis-Honore Frechette PS. Upon successful completion of the requisite French Immersion courses, students are eligible to receive a French Immersion Certificate at the Leaving Ceremony in June of their graduating year.

Vaughan Secondary School offers the Advanced Placement program to its students. Starting from Grade 9, students can enroll in pre-AP courses for English, Math and Science. High level courses are offered through Grade 12 in Science (Chemistry, Biology and Physics), English, History and Math (Advanced functions, Calculus and Vectors). Like other AP programs, students who complete the Grade 12 courses are eligible to write the AP exam.

Vaughan Secondary School also offers the Specialist High Skill Major program [SHSM]. The SHSM is a specialized, Ministry of Education approved program that allows students to focus their learning on a specific economic sector while meeting the requirements of the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD). SHSM assists students in their transition from secondary school to apprenticeship training, college, university, or the workplace. These programs enable students to gain sector-specific skills and knowledge in career-related learning environments with focused preparation for graduation and postsecondary education, training, or employment.

Vaughan.S.S is home to 90.7 RAV-FM. RAV-FM is one of four licensed high school radio stations in Ontario and is a part of Vaughan Secondary School's broadcasting course.
