Jan Czekajewski (born 1934) is a Polish-American engineer and owner/president of Columbus Instruments.
Biography
Jan Czekajewski was born in Poland in 1934 in Czestochowa. He emigrated from his communist mortherland in his teens. During 1960-68 he worked in Physics Institute of Uppsala University in Szweden, where he got his Ph. D. title. On March 3rd 1968[1] he emigrated to USA where he started his own company, Columbus Instruments, producing biomedical i ecological equipment, based on his own inventions. „Columbus Instruments”[2] firm sells research equipment to 50 countries, including Poland.
Education
He received an M.S. in electrical engineering from Wroclaw Technical University in Poland and a Ph.D. from Uppsala University in Sweden. In 1968 he emigrated to the United States, and in 1970 founded Columbus Instruments, a manufacturer and exporter of medical research equipment, of which he is owner and president. The company employs thirty-five people and exports to fifty countries, including the Eastern bloc and the Soviet Union via a distributor in Sweden.

Jan Czekajewski also publishes articles on social and political issues. He participates in social events organized by Polish-American community. On December 17th, 2010 he participated in Miedzyorganizacyjny Oplatek Swiateczny in Consulate General or Poland in New York City, where he discussed issues related to his work with engineers from Association of Polish-American Engineers, Polonia Technica, Inc.. He alos showcased his book, which was released in June of 2010.
